I rather think it's the English who have overstepped the mark this time. Still, if it weren't for England, France would be part of Germany today. It's a difficult call.

Well, yes, but if you look at the map, those scallop grounds are so very close to France - one would think the 'border' should be half-way between England and France. To me it looks like the English deliberately went to provoke the French. Who eats scallops anyway? I try to be fair. On the other hand, with all this stabbing in the back by the hunchback May towards everyone who wanted out of the European Union Mafia (because that's what it is), I am inclined to say Go For It, let's have a massive punch-up with our European neighbours and get them to insist we leave their party. Well, why stop at that - let's invade France and take it all for ourselves - that's what they did to Britain in 1066 and they have never apologised for that. All that slavery of Britons, made to speak French and Latin, raped and murdered and forced to serve the Norman 'masters' - and not so much as a "sorry!". Perhaps this incident will be the spark that ignites the gunpowder. Edward First, another Plantagenet Frenchman, conqueror of the Welsh, Hammer of the Scots - another poxy immigrant.

I read that it was a Canadian boat flying a Scottish flag. I haven't followed the situation today but, as I said, I do think the English have encroached too close to the French coast. Can't they stick to cockles and whelks and Cromer crabs? edit: it seems to have vanished from the News. How peculiar. Have the cheeky-chappy English fishermen run away from the nasty French bullies?

Apparently the french fish near our coastline so why shouldn't we fish near theirs?.. as for running away there were many more french boats than British..withdrawing probably wise in those circumstances

But as I see, this spat has vanished from the News. What has happened? Will there be a more spectacular punch-up this week? Perhaps we could have some drone/quadcopter footage of it? Perhaps put to music, may I suggest The Ride of the Valkyries? Swashbuckling action!

The French have called the British 'Rostbifs' for centuries, perhaps it is now time to change it to 'Scallop Snatchers'.
