I thought you said it was for sinking the boat with. I made a mistake, I think the correct term is 'to scupper'.

I thought it was grounding
Bit tricky to sink a narrow boat on account of lack of depth.

That didn't make any sense at all. Is there antifreeze in the coolant, the age of which is unknown? How do you know it's antifreeze, it could be vodka or gin in there? If you want to sink it, just 'accidentally' get caught on a cill. Remember to take a photo and enter it into the competition!

Don't wait up for an email!

Was it a drill mounted grounding disc ? How dare you insinuate Gazza would not use the correct tool for the job! Nice to meet you and Lucy too π»ππ» A couple of thoughts, if anyone is in the market for a new boat give @newboater a shout, heβs got an eye for a good un π Second thought, the job we discussed at the stern should be reserved for naughtyfox and his drill with grinder attachment. It may just convince him he was wrong about a drill being akin to a giant Dremmel (and they are mostly shit too π) and galvanise him into splashing out on a 4 1/2β grinder π¨π¨π¨π¨π

Yes an angled drive attachment to the tailshaft will be OK for a bodge but what is really needed is a proper diesel engine

None of this makes any sense. He wants to flog the boat he's just bought? Was there antifreeze in the coolant or not? Watching a Jesse Stone movie this evening, I find them quite relaxing. Well written.

Well written. Β I meant as a consultant for buying smart well looked after boats. Af in coolant where it's meant to be, not lounging around idle on the rear deck, also a 5l spare. Spare brand new belts. Spare 5l of Morris 15/40 Engine hole cleaner than yours looks in your photos. A 296 filter for @newboater to play with just over like you, his is better as it has a primer so no twatting about with syringes.

I was having a giggle Yanmar are OK as long as the valves don't snap (MI6 declassified information)

Its lucky you didn't buy a boat with a 3 pot Perkins in it or you would have to change your user name 3.152

The box looks like quite a good one.
