I noticed today that the good ship Helvetia is now under offer at Braunston,I notice also that the asking price has crept up to just under £35000 which I suppose is an attempt to cover the Brokers Fees.Interesting it never found a buyer on Apollo Duck, you would have thought they covered a larger marketplace than any broker could hope to achieve.Still congratulations and fingers crossed on David Schweizers behalf,It was great entertainment while it lasted.

Lots of buyers are nervous about buying privately so stick with brokers.

Lots of buyers are nervous about buying privately so stick with brokers. Which is a bit daft because if the boat is being sold on brokerage then the purchaser has few more rights than if it was being sold privately.

As an aside, I got a phone call from a lovely lady boater yesterday telling me she was expecting a baby with her boyfriend, and was in the process of purchasing a wide beam.Apparently she had heard from another boater about an 82 year old lady who had bought a wide beam to live upon with her son,son cleared off wide beam for sale.It just goes to show, boaters still sell to boaters on the towpath and often without a survey.
