It's not actually mine yet, it belongs to Jo, one of the other boaters. But she's taking her full bike test in a week or two's time and she already has a 600cc bike just waiting for her to pass the test so she said I could buy the Honda for what she paid for it. She's only had it a couple of weeks. I had been planning to get a 125cc bike this Winter so it's the right bike (Honda CB125) at the right time at the right price.

Behold... the new Stabbymobile! Ali’s first bike was a CB125 twin. Went like stink for its size, Easily sat at 70mph with a bit left. Those were the days.

I'd be surprised if it did 70mph with my fat arse sat on it.

I had 70 out of my Suzuki GN125, so I wouldn't rule it out. If you're struggling, going downhill on the east side of the Woodhead pass guarantees 75, possibly 80.

I don't find the red motorcycle anywhere near as cool as the yellow scooter but for a non boat based unit for actual commuting it does appear considerably safer.

Yes, that's exactly it, the Clockwork Banana is perfect for throwing on to the bow deck when I go off cruising and doing shopping trips on quiet roads but the CB125 will be far more practical for everyday use in mixed traffic when I am on the mooring.

I've changed the thread name from "motor scooters" to "motorcycles". I originally started the thread when I went off to buy the Vespa ET50 and although that was a fantastic restoration project, things have moved on now to encompass other forms of two-wheeled transport.

My MSX125 (aka Grom) is still going strong. It protests a bit when I strap 20KG bags of coal to the rack on the back and thrash it up the 1 in 4 hill but other than that, she purrs.
