Yes I could but in reality if CRT say no I'll just move to the next 'place' and have to pay the repairer extra for his travel time (currently 200 yds from his base). What are you having repaired this time? It's one thing after the other! Time to name and shame the seller of your boat! Still the alternator.

As my sainted Mum and Dad used to endlessly say "If we all drop just ONE piece of litter a day, can you imagine how much there'd be in a week" I count seven pieces.

Even today, Jane, I and our siblings, could no more drop litter than strip naked in public. Our parents made not dropping litter an important lesson to us. On picnics, gathering wrappings and taking to a bin was something we fought over. I'm certain Jane and my family are not unique in this. Equally at home we were not permitted to dump stuff for others to tidy up ... we were taught responsibility to others we lived with, and punishment was swift and effective. I'm sorry but the 'bad outcome' has to come from parents. It's a massive and hugely important job being a parent, and sadly, some don't commit to it. Happily most do. Rog I'm happy to say my kids will automatically find the nearest bin when we do picnics. Because they hate my sandwiches. But yes litter is an education problem. Schools could also do more but then there is the probability of making kids into rebels who just drop litter because they are told not to.. Awkward. I remember school being very firm about litter. Not so much my parents. However I have always viewed dropping litter as completely unacceptable. I find it very difficult to do it myself. Its like some sort of inhibition.

As my sainted Mum and Dad used to endlessly say "If we all drop just ONE piece of litter a day, can you imagine how much there'd be in a week" seven pieces multiplied by the number of people being referred to in the control group. Sounds about right ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

"If we all drop just ONE piece of litter a day"
ONE is ONE and there are 7 days in a week.
You did not say "if each one of us was to drop one piece of litter a day"
I was correct.

And on a more boaty related theme - tomorrow I need to phone CRT to see if they will allow me to overstay - parts on order but won't be ready until Weds at earliest - a bit of lee way can go a long way... Just to say CRT have given me permission to overstay if I need it - well done CRT.

If you have a vald reason for overstaying then it's up to you to decide not cart.

Just to say CRT have given me permission to overstay if I need it - well done CRT. I have always found that if you ask, in advance and give them a sensible reason they are accommodating, like most walks in life ...... That was with BW and BWB as well of course, now if you have been granted permission it does not always protect you from the numpties sticking the "You must ring this number" notes on your boat but at least you know they are numpties, even if irritating (which number just gets you to an answer phone, where, when you leave your number they never bother getting back to you ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) )

But I moved onto the boat for an easy life......... I'm just pointing out the legal situation. It's polite to phone and let them know, before you over stay, but all this business about crt have given me permission is rubbish. It just adds to their delusions of power, they can't rewrite the law the same as you can't.
