Currently out on the Thames on the yot. Have the fire going in the cabin however I am driving the boat in the semi enclosed wheelhouse and it is fekkkin cold !
I've been putting off fitting a matrix heater (wish I had done this) because of messing with the cooling system.
Engine is running at 85'C I'm freezing my tits off.
Is this irony?

Nah, it's idleness, take your lead from Gazza, make a list of bits you need, buy 'em and fit 'em. The hard bit is finding or making the time Phil

Yeah, crack on @someboater - phil70 is right 🧐 Get a Bill of Materials together and fit one. Here is a tip - use bulkhead fittings to get from the engine to the cabin, I'll find you a link in a bit.

I think phil70 has it right. It is idleness. I actually have a very nice tractor cab heater but I'm in two minds as to which boat to put it on which means it has not been fitted to either boat yet. The kalori looks good. The other ones I was thinking of are the taxi cab heaters. A friend of mine bought a Chinese one which has several PC cooling fans. I just would not have thought they would push enough air to allow ducting.

The cabin is OK as I have the fire in here. I need a warm air blast while steering. Eta I did wonder about just blowing air through the engine box itself as its pretty warm in there and it is beside the steering position.

Proper narrow boaters laugh at your mamby pamby, indoor steering, cosseted wheel house, cruiser cosiness. We're tough outdoor types, manly and strong ... the men too Rog

A notable difference between canal boating and river boating (Thames) is that on canals there are usually manually operated locks which mean a bit of exercise. The Thames locks are button operated. It does make a difference.

Yes I fondly remember winter cruising on my narrow boat. Too windy to keep it going straight so steaming along the cut at an angle and sleet falling horizontally. could have just sat in by the fire but we were suckers for punishment (we being me and my mum who had a narrow boat as well). Quite ridiculous but there we go.

you would need a spigotted hose connector to go over the outlet - the outlet is the flange. I'm trying to find the 3" i used on ours.
