Very special starting procedures of knackered Lister Petter TS3
Turn Key, Find battery knackered.
Swap battery.
Turn key, Click
Wallop starter with a gert big hammer.
Turn key, nothing much doing.
Turn key with the decompressors over, fling decompressors to run, nothing.
Stop, go get the blowlamp.
Dismantle air filter, fire up blowlamp, stick it in air filter housing, turn key with decompressors over, fling decompressors to run, nothing.
Check lift pump, broken lever, loosen filter head inlet pipe, check fuel flow. Flow ok, tighten up union.
Bleed injectors turning over engine decompressed.
Stick blowlamp back in air filter,turn key over with engine decompressed, fling decompressors to run, hang on to key until engine finally catches.
Pin throttle.
Refit air filter element, drop wing nut - wing nut lands between silencer and chassis. Swear - alot.
Get two long screwdrivers and use like chopsticks to retrieve wing nut from now hot exhaust.
Reassemble air filter, being careful not to drop wing nut again.
Move dumper to a more suitable location for further surgery.
Shut down.
Realise my ears are ringing like mad from being in such close proximity to Dursley's finest iron - dropping the fucking wing nut did not help one bit π€¬π€¦ββοΈ was not sure it would cooperate and start easily again so everything was done at full din ππ§
