Yes @a ... you and TD are right ... it's a natural power I have, rather like my animal magnetism, charm, sophistication, and good looks ... I have to learn to wield it all wisely. I'm cursed with these qualities Rog

Long walk with the wolf over the cliff path. Stayed dry, lots of tourists which I avoided Nipped to the shops..whilst I was away, Freya cleared the kitchen side of eggs and paracetamol. Fortunately she stopped short of snacking. Turfed out couple rooms Car now full for a tip run tomorrow. Time for vino as suspect the sun is over the yardarm somewhere.

Moored up in Gloucester docks in the sunshine. The pontoon at Ashleworth was buggered(technical term),only room for one boat & the boat that lives there was on it.Will do a bit of shopping/mooching in town tomorrow, then a Sainsbury's shop as we head onto the G&S.For those who don't know the area, you can moor in front of Sainsbury's & wheel your trolley to the boat-handy !

Weather is somewhat up and down. Moored about 5 hours from Cropredy and intend being at our ‘festival’ for Thursday. Have plenty of provisions and this mooring is lovely. Cows, sheep and swallows and ducks in prevalence. Also maybe an otter... Actually @ianali ... Jane's just asked me "why did they call it Clarence?" and I don't believe I've ever asked. Lovely photo by the way ... enjoy the Red Lion and the Brasenose Rog

Well we headed up the locks anyway ... what's a little wind and rain to intrepid ditch crawlers like us ... I'm sure TD would agree that 'Alice' carries his own 'vomit inducing' sunshine with him everywhere Think we'll have a brew then go do the laundry ... seems as good a place to go on a wet day. Rog Wash on a Sunday, wash someone out of the family. At least, that's whay my mother used to say.

I had a wash today. Short sharp shower in the perfectly designed cubicle on Dulcinea. This boat has me smiling too much !! And I was like "Paloma ! Yeah yeah yeah."
Returned to the ranch for some sorting out of other things and retrieved the car.
Tomorrow I am going to have a little trip down to below Windsor and retreat to a socially distant small island.
Good thing is it's out of the main channel and I will have the starboard side on the watery side so will be able to bodge some paint onto it while not being concerned about passing boats making too much wash.
And the socially distant aspect is also appealing.
In some ways I am grateful for the covid thing because it has validated my long held belief that being and becoming socially distant is the correct way to behave.
Woman and kids back from their month in France around the 24th so I will have to modify the social distancing protocols as despite it being an awful nightmare I do actually quite like the children and they seem to like me too. I often think that it might be quite wise to remain at least 2 metres away from women.
Just put it down to experience !

The biggest and baddest saxophonist the world ever saw.

Forecasts huh ! Supposed to be dry until 3pm ... however I got a brief soaking at 10.30 am working up Atherstone locks. Arrived at Hawkesbury at 3pm and checked the forecast again ... dry for the rest of the day. Headed off to walk to the Arena shopping complex about 4pm and the heavens opened. Now sat back in the boat after taking refuge briefly in the Greyhound ... beautiful evening now Rog

I managed to achieve a social distance and got onto the back of the unadopted Lion Island below Windsor. Not really a mooring as on can not disembark but ok for me and socially distant which is a Good Thing.
Wet today it was. lit the fire to dry off my shoes and socks.
I was debating the merits of using a pleasant forecast to throw paint at the boat then suddenly it dawned on me that having another boat trip would be a far better solution.
So a little run down to Teddington then turn around. I like the River but not particularly interested in having my world ruled by tides and the boat rocked about. All rather unrelaxed and discombobulating.
So it will probably be an inward bound patrol perhaps up to Oxford again.
I had a lock keeper today demanding to see my Tug Ticket. He didn't believe it was a pleasure vessel. Anyway it is and it is registered as such.
I do get some quite funny comments and a lot of interest in Dulcinea. It's a very amusing item.

Gliding last week, tug annual maintenance this week (cylinder needs to come off), barely at home since our last boaty trip. And now another boaty trip proposed for next week. Jeff’s parents haven’t been on the boat since 2019, they have major withdrawal symptoms so we are going to take them down on Monday for a week. Quite looking forward to it,

I his jaw sorted out yet ? Gradually on the mend thanks. Caesar salad with croutons this evening, that was bold I thought! But seemed to go down well. Seeing consultant on Thursday for a checkup and hopefully removal of brace things.

And your head Telemachus ... not left a horrible prominent scar I hope ? Rog Last of the superglue came off a few days ago. Just asked Jeff. He says barely anything to see, virtually no scar. He says if it had been stitched or butterfly strips there would have been a big scar. So my enormous brain’s attempted escape has been foiled. Thanks for asking!
