It may not be a surprise but I enjoy lock picking too.
I also have a slim Jim for opening doors however I'll point out that I've never taken any of it out of the house as I don't want to be arrested and charged for going equipped.
But it's quite therapeutic, I have some hard locks to pick.
I suppose it's an adult version if an fidget spinner.

There is a YouTube geyser called "the lock picking lawyer" he picks and fully dismantles any lock and also uses force to destroy them. Like nail guns for example. Quite good actually. Have not watched him for a few years as I loathe the awful adverts but he does get the job done. I especially like the nail gun.

Blame dogless for this The blazer. Nairobi Cricket Club. And Dunk calls me the vomit inducer ! Definitely look like a classic English eccentric ... the blazer and rafia go well together in a 'homely air of neglect' sort of way ... I like it. Rog

Nice that there is still a steam powered Salters steamer. Very civilised and rather sensibly they had a geyser on board playing a tuba. Perhaps they are not odious vermin after all?

What a happy accident of timing! Mark on Callisto just dropped off a tonne of coal just a couple of hours AFTER Fingers and his moll came past scoping out my mooring!

Some people are just born lucky.... ... dogless could have come past NEXT week when you're back munching Yorkies, murdering prostitutes, etc etc - especially now that it isn't just your coal at risk but those baby tomatoes in potential peril too.....

Luckily he's moored down at his favourite spot at Cathiron Lane where all that dogging goes on so I know he'll be too occupied with other stuff for a while to sneak back for a fossil fuel and salad fruit raid.

I'm quite new to lock picking, although I've always impressed the kids by being able to open number combination locks by feel alone. Magnetman mentioned The Lock Picking Lawyer's YouTube channel and that is my main inspiration I suppose. I've watched loads of his videos. I got the Yale lock on my bow doors open fairly quickly but the first padlock I tried took me hours to get open over the course of a couple of days. But once I'd done it once and worked out which tools to use it just got easier and quicker every time. There was an enormous sense of satisfaction when it finally clicked open for the first time, a bit like solving a fiendishly difficult crossword puzzle maybe.

He is very good, his videos are great, the narrative is excellent and he's bloody good. If anyone gets bored one day watch a few of his videos. The comments are normally funny too.

I learnt on a 16B padlock which is an Environment Agency standard Yale type padlock. Took quite a while to get the feel but it's like riding a bike.
Never tried anything more complicated as do not need to break and enter but it's quite a funny thing to be able to do.

I like the Ramset nail gun. Powder operated job you don't even need a nail just use the blunt force of the tool. Takes apart expensive padlocks beautifully although to be fair in some situations you would not be able to provide a firm surface behind the unit so there is a certain amount of poetic license going on.. If a job's worth doing it's worth doing right. Bang. Sorted 3:20 is where it gets interesting.

Breaking and entering is bad, but friends have lost keys or combinations so the skill is quite handy.
I've not nailed it yet, some locks are hard.

Turned into a nice warm day so after swimming we had a an hour on the practice green and chipping and then hit the range. I've not played in 5 years but got into the swing of it.
