Talking of tents, gigs, stage damagers etc, here's a tent I made once. Well, the skin was made to order but I made the poles, seating and stage, welded out of Ali. Toured summer 88 but was married by then so it sated my desire to tour, started Skylight Circus In Education in 1989 with Noreen.

Evening boating up the Thames is rather like making love to a beautiful woman. You go for a little cruise, arrive at lock, sort it out, open her up, get it in, enjoy the ride then get it out again minding not strike anything on the way out. Once in open water you can open her up again and enjoy the sunset. Trust you empty her afterwards

Are we referring to the boat or the beautiful woman?

Oh gosh I was slow there!
In this case I did not as there was a vessel which looked to be coming down.

Definitely vomit inducing and entirely cringe worthy.

Did the shopping and wandered around town. Got some books in charity shops, and a couple of new books in a book and card shop that's opened since we last visited. Rugby town centre is looking quite sad, with so many empty premises, but retail is going through a revolution at present and who knows what will happen. Unusual for us, but as we'd done all we wanted, at 5.30pm I reversed back to the water point, did rubbish, water and emptied a cassette, and headed out of town to a quiet spot near Hillmorton locks. We don't routinely do evening cruises, but it was jolly pleasant. Rog We like evening cruising. Rugby seems to have moved all its stored away from the centre, it’s the same with Nuneaton. Odd how towns differ, Hinckley centre is positively thriving in comparison. We left Cropredy this morning. Are now moored close to Napton top lock. Very quiet, well, apart from the hirer that bounced off the side of us earlier. No damage I hope ? Jane was just talking about a trip to Banbury after the solar and before the blacking, but was concerned that water levels are supposed to be an issue on the summit. How was it for you ? Rog

Rog No damage. Water levels haven’t been a problem for us, though we are only 24” deep. Levels aren’t as bad as last time I came this way. Locks both ends are on short time opening hours but it’s all been good. Banbury centre is rather noisy in the day, lots of building work occurring.

Walk in the woods.... Lovely though the dogs ate rubbish..as they do En route back flat tyre and we all ended up at a tiny, extremely busy tyre place I had to take 3 dogs, one of whom can hardly walk is deaf and losing her sight up to a park.... Suffice to say it all proved tad challenging Glad to be home

I would have thought she would be more worried about the risk of violent assault.

The fact he liked it is very telling.
Anyway there has always been summit wrong with the levels between Claydon and Marston Doles.
Years ago (27) I had the opportunity to buy the brick dwellings at Claydon top lock for £35k. And I had the money !
Dreams, dashed by an urge to go boating.
Worse things happen at sea.

Houses are ok, I've owned a couple of them in my time and they do have some advantages over boats. For example you don't need to empty the bog. But the trouble is that if you don't like your neighbours, you're stuck with them.
