I want a Minimum Effort thread - I might win something. Doing all the L&L swing bridges between Leeds and Wigan single handed without having to once drag the boat through or close a bridge must be worth some points...

How about ten points in the maximum effort thread for devotion to shirking ? I'm sure metanoia (whose thread it is) would agree. Rog

Surely the effort is worth at least 1 point per bridge...

Did the shopping and wandered around town.
Got some books in charity shops, and a couple of new books in a book and card shop that's opened since we last visited.
Rugby town centre is looking quite sad, with so many empty premises, but retail is going through a revolution at present and who knows what will happen.
Unusual for us, but as we'd done all we wanted, at 5.30pm I reversed back to the water point, did rubbish, water and emptied a cassette, and headed out of town to a quiet spot near Hillmorton locks.
We don't routinely do evening cruises, but it was jolly pleasant.

Got back to the ranch and Dulcinea was like "can we go boating please dear" and I was like "yeah yeah yeah" so we headed upriver. Another £80 of ripoff 89p diesel and we're on the move. Quite a pleasant evening actually just passing thr reading festival site .
Worse things happen at sea.
Good to be out of Henley for a bit as it's a nightmare area.
A week until woman and kids reappear so maybe Oxford and back or even further.

The marquee went up yesterday biggest we have ever done at a festival. They have been busy today fitting it out.

Odd how towns differ, Hinckley centre is positively thriving in comparison. We left Cropredy this morning. Are now moored close to Napton top lock. Very quiet, well, apart from the hirer that bounced off the side of us earlier.

Evening boating up the Thames is rather like making love to a beautiful woman.
You go for a little cruise, arrive at lock, sort it out, open her up, get it in, enjoy the ride then get it out again minding not strike anything on the way out.
Once in open water you can open her up again and enjoy the sunset.
