Up early this morning, went on deck and walked to the stern and was delighted to see a kingfisher on the mooring rope on the boat next behind me as it shot away I turned and realised there was another one on my stern line !!! after a few seconds it shot away with a lot of twittering and shortly afterwards a third shot passed from somewhwere near the bow !!!
I was not looking forward too much to today as I suspect I am going to get some bad news about my old Volvo later this morning (even more fault warnings appearing) but that brightened me up immensely, I have only once seen one around here before and that was just a coloured flash. To see three like that and one so close was wonderful

Don't want to put you out, but if you don't mind ... you're welcome to whatever you can weigh them in for to cover your time and fuel ... they're just a problem for us. Once free today we'll be heading back to Hillmorton, and eventually Hawkesbury, before turning back for blacking back here (4 Sept)) We can meet you wherever and whenever it's convenient for you. Rog

Cheers Rog, ill catch up with you towards Hawkesbury then?
I have been stashing batteries from the boat and cars for a couple of years, i have some forklift ones at work also.
Should pay for anew set on the boat as mine are not lasting the night anymore with fridge on.

Just had a text, working tomorrow. Loading in Stoke and tipping back in our yard. I'll be driving up the M6 with my driver's door window open so my beautiful chestnut hair flutters in the wind, a bit like Kris Kristofferson in Convoy. Nah, BJ and the Bear. BJ is on his day off.

relieved to get some good news about the old Volvo. The latest warning message re-set and has stayed so after a test drive and it is believed to be a fairly easy problem to fix if it does comes back. bits ordered for the other fault (which is not critical at the moment) and not hugely costly, so the "Grandad's Armchair" looks like it might continue to cause pollution for a bit longer
