As I said earlier, she's been a Facebook friend for a long time, maybe 20 years, so I've seen numerous photos. She's from London and studied mechanical engineering at University of Birmingham so if she can service my engine as well as doing the cooking and cleaning then she sounds like the ideal woman. If she is in her mid to late 30s I think their is a chance she may be after your pram filling baby gravy old chap. How would you deal with this issue? Yes, I wondered if there was a "biological clock" thing going on and the need to obtain some superior DNA and the attendant population paste before it is too late was behind this.

Now on the tub, grabbed beer and basic food from home and kissed Gill farewell… Moored opposite Peels Wharf and enjoying a beer, nice incense stick burning. gonna walk and get some chips soon for tea. Screw your work/life.. time to chill. We must have passed your boat yesterday if it was there then. For some reason I thought you were at Fradley... Had a beer chilled for you as well... oh well.

It was a little further up from the junction, moved it down last night to get better solar and 4g. Catch you on the way back maybe, be back Ashby way soon enough

Nice enough day on the Thames. Have been getting some CBA about taking Dulcinea out but usually come the evening she does the evening eyes at me and we go and have a play.
I was told the boat is getting the nickname "the ghost ship" when I do my Henley bridge looping manoovers outside the pub as people can not see the skipper.
It's sea trials and rudder testing as it happens but it could just look like silliness.
Quite like the ghost ship moniker. Good for the social distancing protocol solutions.

MRI scan this am at 09:30 It was not without some comedy..... There is no dignified way of clambering on a MRI table and positioning oneself so ones dangly bits(women not mens) fall neatly into 2 plant pot style containers....... Then lying still with ones head clamped firmly and(of course) obligatory mask(good for catching runny nose drips)... The contrast as its pumped into the arm gives a warm glow throughout the body culminating in the bladder area...... the ear defenders and ear plugs as much use as cotton wool protection next to a pneumatic drill...... One day these MRI scan units will be the subject matter of sitcoms. I am relieved that I'm pretty nimble. However its done n dusted. I have wandered around Edgebaston reservoir and tomorrow aim to maybe check out the old railway.

Fascinating what they can do. They did a scan for the narcolepsy and found the aneurysm, which is good, cos we didn't used to know about aneurysms till they burst. Not good.

I have wandered around Edgebaston reservoir and tomorrow aim to maybe check out the old railway. I’ve had a couple of MRIs, they are incredibly noisy and not for the faint hearted / those prone to claustrophobia. The first wasn’t too bad because I felt fine (scanning for an acoustic neuroma when I had my ear problem). The second was purgatory because they were scanning for a problem in my arm which was sending it numb and tingly. Trying to lie still on the MRI a table when doing so is painful, is not nice! I didn’t have the contrast thing though. here’s hoping the results are good…

Not good. my dad had an aneurysm which burst..as u say not good. It is fascinating to see advances in medicine, when I think back to what it was like when I trained it was pretty barbaric at times. I will never forget some of the treatments that patients endured.

Thanks Twerp and nemesis for the info - obviously I've not picked up my laptop until this morning so had already found exchange and mart £320 quid later and I at least have some charging ability restored - in the nick of time as the punters arrived early! So we set off and have stopped a few times (even during the days as not much sun) to charge up a bit . I'm about to head out into the engine hole to remove the aux alternator and connect up a cable from the starter one to give it a few amps as we chug - it's gonna have to be topped up by the genny each day until I can get it sorted... not iideal with punters on. I'm trying to get a new one from engines plus (waiting for their call back tomorrow) and have it sent either to the boat yard in MH or Aston Marina for the return journey (we're heading back to Marple by the end of Sept) . Today should find us perhaps moored in Braunston (if there's space) or beyond if not. Schedule being maintained despite charging woes. Went passed a strange place - luckily the stab master wasn't home as we moored just around the corner from him! At one point yesterday, Ellis hid behind a tree in "generator shame" ;-) When the new alternator arrives, I'm going to try and get the old one mended to keep as a spare - all told this is going to dint the winter wallet by about 1300 quid I think but at least NEXT time it happens, I've have one to swap straight on. It stinks that RCR don't count Aux alternators as important enough to be covered . Hey ho. Time to get my spanners out.
