Glorious sunshine today in the southeast of Englandland.
Wonderful to the point of overtopping the wonderfulness of it all.
People back at work so the in and out of London motorcar drive was quite interesting.
One hopes that these plebs will start using the trains more in future.

Really sunny and gloriously hot in Northamptonshire. We're out of the water and in the shed until Friday. Can't start our work until the blacking's been done ... no doubt be able to crack on tomorrow afternoon (after second coat). Hope everyone's in a position to try and enjoy the sunshine Rog

It is now the night time in the UK.
Tomorrow looks like it will be stunningly amazing and unrepeatably incredible in weather terms. There will be talk of global warnings and all that sort of thing but other than that it's not cold and it's not raining so it should be ok.
If it actually is global warming, climate change and all that jazz, then I for one think it might all work out quite nicely as generally speaking people do like warm weather.

Lovely to hear that u got a good test result.. My treatment is more or less set based on the last 'finding' .. she just wanted to ensure not any larger on the one side and on the other that there wasn't one lurking that had not been detected. Thursday for results and finalisation of surgery plan. To-day another walk planned, another coffee n cake beckons.

I seem to be upsetting people by simply asking the question, but thanks for the replies. The obvious choice is to repair the Alde (or update it if not possible) then update the calorifer to include an immersion. I can then use genny to heat immersion ... but we shall see. I'll not raise the issue again Rog Thing is Rog, on a day like today(good sun in LE19), with a decent invertor and heater element in the tank, you wont need to run the engine, seen plenty of boaters on social media say they have filled up the batteries by mid morning then heated a tank full of water, all off solar, ok you need a decent solar array and bank and invertor, but that's a lot of non engine running days in the middle of the year.. Suppose you have to weigh up the cost of equipment v engine hours saved.

Thanks @twerp We almost never use the Alde ... but it's bust ... I need to have it fixed/replaced/removed if only for the day we sell. For 16 years we've lived on the boat (mostly) happy to run the engine for power and hot water ... the solar's disturbed and changed that in a good way, and so now I'm looking for new ways of living with it that suit us Rog

Another glorious day on the Thames.
Proper warm today might hit 30.
Got to drive in and out of London again today so can't just sit around in the sun which is slightly annoying but one of the side effects of having children!
Oh well worse things happen at sea.
