Its actually really interesting because the fallen tree has altered the noises. Previously when the River was on the move I was getting sounds which appeared to be scantily clad young nymphs speaking gaily in unfettered voices of having a wonderful time about the River adjacent to their country estate.
Occasionally interspersed by the sounds of young gentlemen who were presumably pursuing the nymphs with a view to necking and possibly ladies and gentlemen activities of a private nature in the walled garden or the arboretum.
Now it just sounds like a load of water flowing past a fallen tree.
Oh, Bugger!
I feel like unlucky Alf !

Who needs drugs?
I was once briefly acquainted with a beardy sort who claimed to derive psychedelic reactions from simply holding a mushroom (any sort would seemingly have sufficed) in his hand.
But he was later sectioned and committed, or so I heard.

Slam Transport sound like good employers ... you've dropped on your feet. But of course they recognise quality drivers when they seem 'em too 👍🏻 Rog No, . . Alice, . . he hasn't "dropped" onto anything . . he doesn't work for Slam Transport, . . it's a clumsy try at misdirection.Coventon claiming that he does (work for Slam Transport), is simply one more example of the mindless incohesive nonsense constantly being churned out by a pathological liar.
He's a malicious pervert with a long history of internet stalking that he has recently expanded into publishing confidential personal information, on the internet, . . with the intention of compromising other individual's privacy and safety.Slam Transport may well be good employers, . . but that lying turd of a pal of yours wouldn't know anything about that from personal experience, . . because, as I think you probably know, . . he doesn't work for them. I've yet to form a definite opinion as to whether or not the both of you are conspiring together, . . or if Coventon is simply feeding you false information about the company he does work for, in the hope of escaping the consequencies of his recent serious delivery customer privacy and GDPR transgressions. Coventon, in fact, works for a company called Hi-Speed Services. They're on Swift Valley Industrial Estate, Rugby - and they also have another yard in Aldershot. Slam Transport aren't in Rugby, but they do have yards in Coventry, York, Darlington, Dunfermline and Gourock, . . and occasionally, if in need of a bit of extra capacity, . . farm out a bit of sub-contract work to the firm that the pathological liar DOES actually work for, . . Hi-Speed Services in Rugby. Slam Transport, incidentally, don't have any 18-tonne rigids, or Sprinter vans, . . the types of vehicle that your psychotic pal has been openly admitting to driving at work for the past few weeks. So, . . Alice, . . with your turd of a pal Coventon posting more of his poorly thought out and increasingly transparent lies on this forum, and you responding in a manner that lends credibility to the lies, . . here's the question you now need to answer.
Are you knowingly colluding with this malicious pathological liar, . . and in effect wilfully furthering known untruths he is posting on the internet ? I think you are, . . and with other information recently come to light, I think your association with and support for an internet stalker already known to the Police (Vince 'Mr Stabby' Coventon) is going to have to be looked into very carefully. NB I'm going to continue re-posting this until you acknowledge it and reply. A man's choice of friends often reveals an awful lot about the man himself, . . and what a piece of low-life rubbish you've chosen to develop a cosy relationship with. You're either a very poor judge of character, . . or you're every bit as much of a low-life turd as Coventon himself. Continuing to ignore this matter won't make it go away.

Decent sized ash tree. Trees in the River is an interesting topic. Loads of them in silly places. Not a particularly easy job to extract and as it fell from privately owned land there must be some questions... I am hoping the large conifer falls inland when it goes as it looks like it could just about reach the Boat.

Raining this morning which is a bit of a pain as I want to run my generator to hoover the boat. My generator is a bit of a health and safety hazard at the best of times, I don't think starting it in the rain would be a very good idea, even if I can get it to start. The last time I tried, it stubbornly refused.
Need to do a trip to Aldi though so will probably do that this morning.

We've only been back onboard since 20 February and we're getting a bit sick of the rain and mud. I think those who have continually cruised all winter without the benefit of a car, and with a canine companion (take a bow metanoia) deserve a huge medal 🏅, as do those who've lived aboard all winter with the added benefit of their own transport 🥈. Looking at the forecast the predominant feature remains rain. Surely a long dry spell can't be far away can it ? Rog

Are you still moored under that beech tree? Yes. That one is okay its the fir which is now dodgy as the ash was beside it and there will be an increased scour effect by the water.

Did the shopping, last week Home Bargains had pallet-loads of bags of firewood outside, this week all gone and potting compost in its place. Supermarkets use complex computer algorithms to determine stock levels and presumably these algorithms are aware of increasing temperatures next week.
Got the generator running, was just a bit low on oil, which trips the cut-out. Spring cleaning today although I'll probably go out for a ride on the Clockwork banana later.

Nice day a bit chilly I postponed the run down to Teddington as there is a bit of water about.
Pictures of K&A locks underwater so more to come.

In the light of the recent flooding on the river, a new salaried position has been created to help focus on essential and emergency works. The title of this prestigious opportunity will be 'Thames Water Authority Tutor'.
