Its not about the taste its the effect. You could get the same effect from a bottle of Haig or Teachers for a sixth of the price.

Cheap whisky doesn't do the same thing as expensive whisky.
Its all in the water. The quality of the water is what matters.

Whisky is absolutely disgusting, I don't know how anyone can drink it. Even Scotch people prefer Buckfast AKA "Smash up the hoose juice", that tells you all you need to know. Hints and tips on good taste from Mr Stabby ... the south's answer to Rab C Nesbitt ... with an inflatable Marydoll π Rog

I remember fifty ... nearly twenty years ago π I reckon you won't hit your peak until 55 to 60 years and then there's a gradual but noticeable decline. My only advice β Admiral is don't start dyeing your hair ... once you start it's difficult to stop or so I understand. Maybe there's someone here more 'in the know' as it were βΊοΈ Rog

It worked Telemachus π€ A tad strong and I've never tasted it, so jealous for sure ... although I see it's a product of Bruichladdich on Islay and I have tasted their whiskies . Slainte mhath Is it good ? Rog It is very good. Not really drinkable neat, but with 30% added water it is still quite strong and a lovely taste, quite chocolaty. I did have to have a second one! The story is that the member (Craig) who brought it to the club was given it by way of appreciation for him carrying out the annual maintenance on an aircraft owned by a syndicate, and the same syndicate had a whisky syndicate whereby they bought a barrel of whisky between them. Craig seems to have several such bottles kicking about his house and decided to bring one to the club. Note the date of 2004, the 10 year badge, and the current date of 2024. So presumably itβs been kicking about in the bottle for 10 years. Anyway, it was very nice. Did I mention that before?

I should possibly have mentioned this before, but the gliding club clubhouse does show off the whiskys provided by the members and consumed on site, in terms of the empty boxes. Apparently they are all arranged in some sort of order but exactly what I am not sure, bearing in mind I never drink whisky.

'Never drink whisky' is a proud boast considering what you're currently drinking Telemachus π€£ It is strong isn't it. Rog ETA some fine examples on those shelves

Very heavy rain overnight. Dark and gloomy in Pete's shed. Getting very bored now and looking forward to escape.

Pretty dark and gloomy outside the shed too Mr Stabby with very heavy rain and grey skies. The Google forecast for Whilton was showing very heavy rain and snow ... no snow in sight thankfully. May move down to Weedon if it stops ... we shall see. No burning desire to get soaked. Rog

Lots of rain about an inch on average in Oxfordshire. Strongly suspect the River will go back onto red boards in a lot of places.
Its been a very wet winter season not showing much sign of drying up. Still I am not moaning. No rain = no River.
