A very rare beast at Marsworth. Towpath side BW/CRT residential moorings. I know this one is offside but just the other side of the bridge opposite the Aylesbury arm entrance there are residential moorings. Interesting place one of my favourite parts of the GU in fact I was just discussing with a friend the option of having a cruise up there in the launch sometime. Things are changing and the fleet is being streamlined.

Good looking boat though. Rog

Yes. Trevor Oxley. He has put together several very nice barges.

I got a black eye, completely soaked to the skin and covered in fluffy white sead pods. Took the kayak up the abbey stream at Chertsey. I have done this before and know it is a significantly overgrown Chanel but did not take a saw.
So one of the willow branches I forcibly snapped whipped back and whacked me really hard in the eye. I saw a flash the likes of which I have not seen since the Woman threw plates at my eyes about ten yars ago! Innit.
Anyway it was an arduous passage lots of fallen trees, getting in the water to drag the kayak over obstructions but I am not one to shirk when it comes to getting a job done.
Best clothes wet and wasted, right eye blackened, core temperature messed around with I nearly ran out of beer and my hat is covered in willow filth.
I was quite shocked but now have the fire and going and warming up.
Pasta and sausages for dinner as usual.
I do wonder about this eye. That willow branch hit it really hard. I think its going to be a pearler.

Made me laugh although obviously I comprehend the underlying sadness and pathos ... after I stopped guffawing π€£

I feel quite guilty about this I just couldn't work out any other way to access the contents.

I found a couple of rower twat oars - partly broken after the floods so they have now been joined and it makes a nice kayak paddle. My kayak is rather wide so long paddle needed. These are nice quality, light and efficient. Ideal.
