That money has effectively been stolen from you. A week's wages back then now buys you a couple of pints down south.
The only way you can maintain the value of money is by gambling it.

£350 That reminds me of something. with a k on the end. Of course as I am going to be a litigant in person it is likely I will get fucked and left destitute. Which will be nice ! Always best to enjoy the moment as that is the only thing which exists. What about the next one, oops missed it, here comes another, they're small elusive little bastards these moments, never enough of them on the estate. With your incisive mind you'll run rings round them. Have a wash and comb your hair. Tony could be your ?Mackenzie? Friend, then you'd have no worries at all. He's a legal shite hawk.

Premium Bonds are a form of gambling. Exactly. The only guaranteed schemes guarantee to devalue it. Savings rates being lower than the rate of inflation, on average, with the possibility of tax on savings. There's no tax credit on inflation.

Camden and Regents Park and canal yesterday. It makes your legs ache this 'Lunnon'. Jolly good fun though and the weather's been good too. Clipper tickets for our final day tomorrow, so we'll spend a bit of time on the Thames 👍 Looking forward to leaving now ... even though rain is forecast for Monday. Rog

I think there should be a campaign against deceiving small children in childcare settings.
Obviously the wheels on the bus do not go round and round all day long and I think awareness has been reasonably well spread around this.
Another one is 'zoom zoom zoom we are going to the moon.
The kid is thinking they are going to the moon. How cool that a childcare assistant could offer such a wonderful life experience. They never go to the moon. Its so disappointing.
Really shocking and there are others.

Launderette done. Second coat of County Cream paint on the boat roof. I have half the 5l tin left so I'll probably end up putting four coats on although I'll leave it a week between each coat. Going to start preparing the Vespa for our Peak District ride next weekend. Going to ride up Sunday morning, visit Crich Tramway Village, stay at the Premier Inn in Matlock Sunday night and do a 100-mile circular trip on Monday taking in Snake Pass, Cat & Fiddle, Ladybower Reservoir etc before riding back to the boat.

Strangely enough, apart from a few visits in the truck to some of the larger towns the Peak District is one of the few areas of the UK I've never really explored. So I'm looking forward to it.

Day Rover tickets for the Thames Clippers today ... blue sky and sunshine at present.
Jane rescued one of the Waterbus boats that had apparently been set adrift overnight, and tied it off on our side of Browning's Pool ... no obvious damage to boat or ropes.
In view of the 'rude awakening' we took advantage of being up and about and went to the services.
Lovely to be moving the boat and really looking forward to leaving tomorrow now ... but in the meantime the city calls 😁

Occasionally sunny here but mostly overcast. Just mundane Sunday chores today, washed and hoovered out the car. Having a sill repair panel welded in on Tuesday which sort of prompted me to tidy it up a bit.
Did some weeding on the mooring. Went for my biannual haircut. Back to work tomorrow, going to Birkenhead, right by the German U-boat according to Google maps.
