A bit bleak.
Need to tidy up the saloon launch a little as am being raided by my girls and one of the sisters who has two boys next week. So it will be 3 adults and 4 kids. Never had that many units aboard before.
Luckily they (boys and parents) are camping with their van so won't need to be on board for the whole time.
Still it should be a bit of fun on the River. Always nice on the River anyway.

Little railway in Leighton Buzzard is nice. It actually goes from Leighton Buzzard to Stonehenge, I shit you not. of course it does, how else did they get them big stones there.

I used to think it was stone hinge. Very disappointed to find it won't fold.

Apparently Braunston Stop House sold at Auction this week.
Opening price £200,000 and with two bidders it sold for £210,000.
I understand it needs a lot of work doing immediately (damp, roof etc.) which I assume explains the low price.
I await with interest discovery of who the new owners are and their plans for the building.

Very quiet at Westport Lake, apart from the geese! Just 2 other boats this morning. Jeff’s parents arriving late this afternoon (Avanti West Coast permitting) and then we are heading off for a repeat performance of the Caldon. Hopefully with a bit less drizzle this time.

Don't know about up there but the forecast down here looks significantly undispleasing for next week.

Blue sky and sunshine, which is jolly nice after the rain and low cloud of yesterday evening.
It was warm but cloudy as we walked the mile to the Globe Inn, but then the cloud descended and it was a less pleasant mile walk back to the boat.

Work finished for the week. Only went in on the Vespa once (today) so running total for July is eight.
Have a mind-numbing day of DCPC training tomorrow via Zoom meeting, this should be the last one I ever do.
Electrics all sorted out on the Scoopy now, even the starter motor works. Fitted a new battery and have ordered two new tyres for it.
Both boys coming up for a few days week after next and bringing their bikes up (in Charlie's new van). So we'll have at least one day out riding.

Here's Charlie's new van. Before he bought it he said to me "Do you know anything about vans?" So I said "I know you'll always have lots of mates if you've got a van"
