Let us know once you're finished for the day Mr Stabby Rog For which company, and from which depot, is your deranged psychopathic internet stalking/trolling buddy, Shit-for-Brains Coventon, making out that he's been working this last week, eh, Roger 'dogless' Day ? Is today an occasion for pretending that he's travelled up from the false address in Kent - the one he uses to mislead such as the Police and the DVLA - to work from one of Slam Transport's five depots at Coventry, York, Darlington, Dunfermline or Gourock, . . all of which have been alerted by the company's National Health & Safety Manager that they are the subject of unwanted attention and trolling on the internet by a pair of weirdo nutcases named Vince 'Mr Stabby' Coventon and Roger Day ? Or is Coventon's sick wandering mind presently focusing a little closer to reality, and admitting to the fact that a company called Hi-Speed Services, with a depot on Swift Valley Industrial Estate in Rugby has, at least for the moment, the misfortune of employing him ? __________________________________________________________________________________________________ For anyone not understanding or confused by any of what I've said above, or unfamiliar with the background and what led to it, the following will perhaps be of some assistance:- In a Thunderboat post published on 12 Aug 2024 < thunderboat.boards.net/post/403189/thread > pathological liar Shit-for-Brains Coventon made the following blatantly untrue statement in an effort to avoid or at least delay questioning by Warwickshire Police in connection with multiple past and ongoing offences under the Malicious Communications Act 1988, the Protection from Harassment Act 1997, and the Online Safety Act 2023 :- ". . . I don't live on the mooring. I live in a house in Kent where I pay Council Tax . . " The 'mooring' referred to is one of the residential boat moorings at Colehurst Farm, Rugby, CV23 0PT, alongside the (North) Oxford Canal, close to the villages of Stretton-under-Fosse and Brinklow.

Bit of a grey and drizzly start to the day. Boys are coming up today so I'm going to do an early trip to get provisions, do laundry etc.
No V5C for the Scoopy as yet but looking on one of the Facebook groups I see this post from someone who has recently been through the exact same process and it seems like DVLA have tightened up procedures since I last submitted a V62, preumably because vehicle cloning has become rife...
"Mark Brown Author Top contributor The next thing that happened was receiving a letter asking for pictures and chassis Nos etc. But remember my bike hadn’t been taxed for 23 years. There was an option to respond via email. I gathered all the information requested. They confirmed the next morning that all was good. They then explained they would write to the previous owner for confirmation that they no longer had it. If they don’t receive a reply in 14 days they would issue the V5 regardless. I watched the V5 enquiry page daily. 😂 14 days exactly and the last issues V5 date changed. 3 or 4 days later the V5 arrived. There was at least 1 week after the cheque was cashed before the letter arrived".
So I guess I'm looking at a few more weeks yet, not that it really matters as it's a novelty rather than being something I need for commuting etc.

Fabulous photo nicked from Facebook (Derek Huntriss) of the old Newdigate Colliery wharf at Bedworth. Rog I occasionally drink in the Newdigate pub. Horrid day this morning, weather wise. Finished off fitting my new low sump to my toy car yesterday, what a pain of a job. Fingers crossed it won’t leak. Was planning to go to the Brinklow show but might just go and play snooker instead, season begins soon and I’ve not practiced for months.

Wet today..
So yesterday I was out on the Podium launch and a rowing coach asked me 'do you like that Boat?' I said 'yes'.
He mentioned that they have another one, in poor condition looking for a new home for a donation.
Its the Taskmaster. I have been eyeing it up for ages. Its on land in the nettles. It is an older version with marine ply topsides but still the GRP hull. Sadly two holes punched in it when it filled with water sitting on a launching trolley but it is a pretty easy fix. It also has an old Honda 8 outboard which some idiot left on its side in an area which floods. So that is scrap but what I could do is take off the lower unit and bolt a pod drive on it. That would work and it would link to the teleflex steering.
I reckon for £200 its worth it. They are lovely Boats and the alternative is likely to be that it gets binned.
Anyway I got him to call me but my phone was not working so I never got the number. I'll go on Tuesday and see.
Not desperate for the thing but they are nice articles.
I will take it if it is coming my way but won't lose sleep either way.

The reason the Taskmaster is interesting is because it is one of the original Eton coaching launches. They were colloquially known as 'the task masters'.
It would be a good one to get and tidy up a bit. I had considered adding electric to the Podium but don't really want to mess it around. A second one is perhaps more sensible in this regard.

The fatal flaw in your plan is that it involves doing some work to a boat. You should give this careful consideration.

The fatal flaw in your plan is that it involves doing some work to a boat. You should give this careful consideration. Absolutely old chap. This is a very astute observation. Funnily enough the Podium launch has an immaculately clean white hull with no weed or antifouling. I scrubbed it ! I believe that this Taskmaster can be modified in such a way as to make it into a camping launch. A solar powered version of a camping skiff. For overnight jaunts. Oops its winter now isn't it. Bugger.

So did I !
In the end I much prefer going out on small Boats near the waterline. Its just a lot more enjoyable.
