So did I ! In the end I much prefer going out on small Boats near the waterline. Its just a lot more enjoyable. Yes the smaller the boat the more fun.

Indeed and the Eton Racing Boats launches are particularly fun because of the way they are made.

Bit of a grey and drizzly start to the day. Boys are coming up today so I'm going to do an early trip to get provisions, do laundry etc. No V5C for the Scoopy as yet but looking on one of the Facebook groups I see this post from someone who has recently been through the exact same process and it seems like DVLA have tightened up procedures since I last submitted a V62, preumably because vehicle cloning has become rife...
. . . along with declaring false addresses to the DVLA, and the Police, for 'iffy' vehicle and keeper registration purposes.

Low wash hull form very economical and clean through the water. A lot of technical expert ease went into these little launches.
Its very clever the way it creates two separate bow waves which 'fold' together and leave a trail of bubbles.
The Honda 8 is toast but it will be an ideal base for the pod motor. Just drop the lower unit and bolt the pod to an ally plate which itself is bolted onto the leg. Wires can run up inside the leg. Take the powerhead off. It will look like a normal outboard but will be electric.
Obviously attempt to get it going first but it doesn't seem remotely probable that it is saveable.

Had a walk up the old Newdigate Colliery arm, what's left of it Amazing changes in a relatively short time. Rog

Boys are here, we've done a deep clean on all four bikes, replaced some rusty transmission cover bolts with brand-new shiny ones, changed the mudguard stays and front wheel on Clockwork Banana. Rather annoyingly when we took the front wheel off one of the brake pads had become delaminated (common problem with them) so my plan to ride that one to the show is cancelled. Luckily brake pads are still readily available and I've ordered a set.
Looking forward to the Festival tomorrow, hopefully weather is set fair.

Chinese is it Mr Stabby ... best to keep the lads away from barbecues just in case 👍🏻 Rog Had the economy version today, instant noodles from the Gurkha shop in Nuneaton. Did push the boat out a bit in that both of them ate from a ceramic bowl each rather than having to share a plastic bowl. Sam probably wouldn't find the barbecue comment funny.

Nice, bright sunny morning, perfect for the show today. The only potential fly in the ointment is that the wind is forecast to pick up this afternoon and ba about at the limit of wnd speed the Avro Lancaster is permitted tp operate in so the flypast may get cancelled.

The sunshine's lovely this morning ... a morning like yesterday makes you fully appreciate it. Just tilted the panel and we've gone from 90w to 166w ... who'd have thought it would make such a difference. Hope you and the lads enjoy the show Mr Stabby ... photos would be good 👍🏻 Rog

Rather windy again. I am currently tracking a friend of ours who is sailing around Ireland and then onwards to the Caribbean. Weathers a bit against him and he’s kinda stuck off the coast from the Skerries.

Bloody freezing and windy at the gliding club - max 12C today. It’s supposed to be summer.

Hope your friend has had breakfast...just looked at XCWeather...lows of a strong F5 gusting to a strong F6...crikey. An exciting ride.
Is he heading north or south?

He left the Hebrides last week. Had a couple of nights in Belfast and is now on way to Dublin. He has sent word that he is holding his location for the next day or so, waiting on weather, and I thought I was brave doing the tidal Thames 😊
