Cor is that 23 yars.
I can remember it like yesterday. Moored near Reading on the Thames with my mum. She had a telly and radio 4. Heard the news on radio 4 and we both watched it on the telly.
Quite impressive.

On that morning, while approaching Tottenham Hale tube, there was an Arabic-looking chap dressed in what I suppose was traditional Afghani attire. Which was a filthy rag draped around him. He also was wearing a similarly filthy turban-type arrangement. A stinky fellow.
He wasn't doing anything except making himself conspicuous and displaying a wide grin. Didn't think much of it. Saw the news about lunchtime. Eventually the penny dropped.

Quite a few people died. But the numbers are inconsequential compared to other recent wars in which the USA has a hand. But they are brown so I suppose they don’t matter.

Nice and warm in the boat, the winds dropped, there's bits of blue sky around and the sun's trying it's best to shine. Quite a pleasant morning. I recall walking into Midland Chandlers at Preston Brook 23 years ago today, to discover the staff gathered around a TV screen watching, what we thought at first was an action film. A day that changed the world quite significantly. Rog I'd picked up our first cabin cruiser the day before on a trailer from Redditch. I was in a car spares shop on the day, staff watching on TV.

I was remembering the day Telemachus not making points ... I think plenty of points have been made to no effect. I recall my Dad ringing me that evening to discuss the incident ... we were out for a week off work on our share boat. 7 July 2003 he was working in London and rang me to let me know he was okay. They were huge historic events, but rightly or wrongly it's the personal we remember. Rog

Looks a tad fresh out. Just debating whether to go through Braunston tunnel today. Came down Watford flight yesterday in what must be close to a record time. Just us and 2 brilliant volunteers. They were fun and very efficient. Winding the red paddles before I’d left the lock above, something like that anyway. Never seen it done before.

At 1716 hrs on 12 August 2024, Vince 'Shit-for-Brains' Coventon, also known by his own chosen internet name of 'Mr Stabby' - posted the following wilful lie on the internet :- "I live in a house in Kent where I pay Council Tax and am on the electoral register.
Shown below is a fairly recent photo, taken through one of the windows of Vince 'Shit-for-Brains' Coventon's genuine sole full-time residence, . . a borrowed uninsured narrow beam steel canalboat that, despite pretending to, he does NOT own, but has lived aboard full time at the same canalside farm moorings since some time in late 2014 :- The photo, which he took himself, is of Shit-for-Brains Coventon's car, . . and was certainly NOT taken from any window of the address (house) in Kent that he's currently, and has long been dishonestly declaring to all and sundry, including the DVLA and the Police, as his sole residence for the last 9(+) years, . . it was taken through one of the windows of the uninsured borrowed boat ('Desiree' - Index No 73371) that Shit-for-Brains falsely claims to own.
Fact is, that despite claiming to live in Kent, . . in a house for which he says he pays Council Tax, and is on the electoral register, . . this pathological liar lives permanently, full time, on board a boat that someone else owns, and which he moors and keeps for most of every year on the boat moorings at Colehurst Farm, Rugby, CV23 0PT, alongside the (North) Oxford Canal, close to the villages of Stretton-under-Fosse and Brinklow. *

He's rather like the turd that won't flush.
Whatever he's wittering on about I guess it's not the weather or his plans for today.

Well, I'm Spartacus, not John. Old house now sold, settling in to bungalow, busy building cupboards, shelves in cupboards in house and the TARDIS New Shed, 14' x 11', to fit everything in. Octopus did a fine job fitting the heat pump, it's now being tested by the colder weather, it's fine, it's a more gentle heat with bigger cooler rads. I've topped up the insulation in the loft, also discovered we had cavity wall insulation when I drilled a core out to fit kitchen fan. The EPC surveyor had missed it, there are no visible signs in the brickwork. With enough sun at the moment we are running for free off the solar and battery. Happy days. Now off to the tip with more junk we don't have room for !

On Aug 12, 2024 20:35:12 GMT 1 Mr Stabby, the nutter pictured in the 'selfie' below, standing in public on the stern of a boat waving a (Army rifle) bayonet said :- "Unlike some here, I fully understand the Law and do not think that different interpretations of it apply to me."Ten days earlier, on Aug 2, 2024 17:39:33 GMT 1 this same nutter had said: . . "I wouldn't have to had Jim not quoted convicted paedophile Tony Dunkley making yet another totally unprovoked personal attack on me. For as long as he continues to do so and others quote these personal attacks, I will do my best to get him badly beaten up." ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Since stating that he was going to do his best to - quote - ". . get him [me] badly beaten up." - and up to and including today, this nutter who claims such an extensive understanding of how UK Law functions, has continued to post my full postal address with a photo of me to aid identification, on the internet multiple times every day. 'Mr Stabby' is also stating in a post linked to below, that he intends to write to neighbours and people who live close by :- thunderboat.boards.net/post/405146/thread"I am going to write to a selection of your neighbours at Forest Close at the weekend and tell them what they have living in their neighbourhood."________________________________________________________________________________________________________
