Does the club insure the gliders Telemachus ? I thought the individual owner or owners would have to do that. Rog

Does the club insure the gliders Telemachus ? I thought the individual owner or owners would have to do that. Rog The club owns 3 gliders, 2 2-seaters and a single seater. So obviously the club insures those, and it was a club 2-seater that got crashed. Other gliders such as my own 2-seater are insured by their owners. Last year the premium for the 3 club gliders was around Β£8k despite no crashery in the past 20 years. No doubt when it comes to renewal they wonβt remember 19 claim free years, just the claim for this year!

I'll hazard a guess that joining a flying/ gliding club is a more serious financial investment than joining the likes of a sailing club.
