How's the back today JohnV ? Deep frost here but brilliant sunshine and blue skies without a cloud. Got to visit shops today ... but we'll go this afternoon ... seems to be quieter then if the picture is settling down now. It's good to see some more postive posts on the old forum Rog Happy anniversary both.. apparently you should be buying each other some land. Is the land shop still open?

Thank you .
It is a day we need to visit the shop ... neither of us take milk in our drinks or eat cereals with milk ... it's amazing how much this helps in seriously reducing visits to the shop.
But the time has come ... as we haven't got any pasta (my favourite food) I'd settle for a bag or two of whole grain fusilli rather than any land.
To be honest land is probably the last thing we need, living on the boat ... unless I grow some spaghetti trees .
(Who's old enough to remember that ?)

Well we made it to Morrisons and got all we needed (including pasta) although only one person allowed in, so I'm glad we had a list that I could follow, or I'd have just had a trolly full of custard donuts Jane popped to Aldi for the few things we wanted from there, and then we bought a ridiculous M&S three course ready meal to celebrate this evening with bubbles. Hope the M&S prepared stuff is as good as the price suggests it should be. We should be fine until well into next week now. And on our way back a young woman from the new houses offered to assist us with her car if we needed anything heavy next week ... a very kind offer ... but slightly miffed that she must have thought we were old dodderers struggling with shopping Most people are really considerate and kind ... most people. Rog If u eat the m and s stuff with the mindset its ok it will be.... don't worry about folk thinking u r old n decrepit ...I'm accepting it and just letting all of them look after me..it makes a change... and a trolley full of custard donuts..thats just stockpiling and sooooooooooooooo wrong

just to keep dogless updated
managed to get off the boat and into the car this afternoon.
drove into Hull to a chemist that I knew had a parking area right outside it's door.
No other customers and no problems getting cocodamol and ibuprofin (more or less as much as I wanted/needed. After watching me struggle in, I just had to say "sciatica" and there were no other questions)
One thing I could not help but notice (because there was hardly any other people around) there were still groups of council workers out and about and their ideas of social distancing were ...... flexible ? 2 guys weeding, side by side in a centre of road flowerbed that itself was only about 2 metres wide. also two grass cutting machines one on each side of the road .... yes great, well apart ....... only trouble was that one of the machines was having a problem and both the drivers were crouching over examining it !!!

well I seem to have survived yesterdays outing without any ill effects. Still achy but no worse than yesterday and at least I have enough pain killers not to worry about running out.
I did wonder about stopping and getting some fresh fruit and milk as those will be the only things I am likely to run short of in the near futuree but to be perfectly honest I had had just about enough by the time I got back to the boat.
Starting to do a few gentle stretching exercises today

Starting to do a few gentle stretching exercises today I've just remembered... Apparently horse riding very good for sciatica relief.... Just saying..

My old Grandad used to say of horses 'bites one end, kicks at other, and bloomin' uncomfortable in the middle'.

Not had horses but we had a few ponies. My pony was called Gypsy. She was very uncomfortable and often refused at hurdles. I fell off her once when she refused. Momentum carried me forwards.
Riding is ok but it's definitely an acquired taste.
Not my bag.
If required I would be able to ride a horse no problem but I'd rather not.

Old joke, but reminds me of Mark Phillips and Princess Anne's wedding night
Four faults, three refusals, and Mark fell off twice.
