It's good to be boating again after all the nonsense.
Tomorrow I have the slightly unenviable task of performing the west to east London run on Paddington arm and Regents section of Grand Union. Kensal Green to Limehouse.
Stinking ditch of rubbish and weed but love is love.
I'd love to get away from the ditches but it just doesn't seem to happen.

Can see the bottom here, you just need to be on the right bit of ditch.

Oh yes you can see the bottom of the cut in the inner city. My kids have given it the nickname "beer can paradise". We've been up and down Limehouse Cut in the electric dinghy more or less every day during the lockdown. Weed, rubbish and the occasional fish. Nice work if you can get it

I expect the rabid badger will complain but here are some pics from our jaunt today. They are LARGE size but I can't reduce it (Imgur's mobile app not the same as its desktop version): Myllykoski on the Kitka river. The Little Bear Circuit of 8 miles follows this river on its south side. Jyrävänkoski a bit further down the river Kitka. The Kitka joins the even mightier Oulanka river and they disappear over the border into Russia. At one of the 'resting stations' - you see, they have heard of the dreaded coronavirus up here too!

Over to Kiutaköngäs on the river Oulanka, a bit north of the Little Bear Circuit. The main Bear Circuit path gets close to Russia. This is the start of Kiutaköngäs where the whole wide Oulanka river gets squeezed into a narrow canyon. It's a deafening roar. Later, upriver, we saw a big, whole pine tree going down the river - that would have been fun watching that thing go down the chute, or getting stuck! The photo doesn't lend the enormity of the chasm of violent water. The eastern end of the Kiutaköngäs gorge... the tormented and roaring waters gather their dignity once again and flow off in a calmer state.

I seem to recall an old joke about the I.R.A. alphabet. There was no B&Q in that.

Very cloudy and persistent rain today ... at least it's not cold. I blame Mr Stabby as the weather was great until he left his mooring. Rog

I lit the fire first thing - it's currently 27 degrees in side and still raining on and off but that's good... apparently we need the water. Wind is getting up too which is a pain as I was gonna go walking... don't mind wind or rain for walking but both together is just miserable.
Perhaps I'll do some more route planning for next year instead.

At one of the 'resting stations' - you see, they have heard of the dreaded coronavirus up here too! No mention of bears then. Just make Pirrko walk ahead, or do they sneak up behind you? Lovely pics. It's raining here at last, desperately needed for the garden. Indoors ordering PPE for the Skylight Circus staff to use when they return to work part time in July. Despite the rumoured shortages it was all available on Amazon, I used Amazon Smile so we get a donation. So... out with the begging bowl, costs you now't to use Amazon Smile and nominate Skylight Circus in Education reg'd charity 1001570. If you are selling your soul to a global company might as well appease the gods. Tin Hat on, awaiting incoming from the resident Grumpfuttock.

Just looked at the forecast again ... rain all day today ... dry tomorrow Lounge with books today and shuffle into Ellesmere tomorrow ... we have a load of washing so the launderette's going to be busy. We need to find out if we can cruise into Wales now ... anyone any ideas how we can find out ? I understand in Wales it's okay to meet up and exercise upto five miles from home now, so things are relaxing. Rog

I'd be worried about an infestation of leeks.
