Well the broom handle section was a bit slimmer than the internal of the paddle so padded it out a bit with duct tape. A load of 'plastic steel' cheap as chips fast setting epoxy I buy in Bali every year, pushed the two halves together, solid as a rock now.
A boat called Freya passed earlier, fancy that.

Glad to hear you're no longer up the cut without a paddle, Clinton Cool - hope the latest news doesn't make your house move even more problematic. After all, assuming it remains p free I might be glad of your rose painted kettle!

Beautiful sunny day here in Cheshire (sorry, don't do photos but, trust me .... it was lovely).
Lots of boats rushing about (not many slowing down but ...) and mainly smiley faces. However, my fire is now well alight in anticipation of a chilly equinox (and a slow roasted sweet potato with lashings of local butter).

Bit wet today. I blame Roger, soon as he said he was off home, the wind changed. We are going to sit it out above Hatton. Visit a pub and.... light the stove๐ฎ

We called and used the laundry machines outside Morrisons for the first time.
All automated, including adding detergent and fabric conditioner and pay by contactless.
Perfectly acceptable result.
Large wash ยฃ8 ... small wash ยฃ4 ... extra ยฃ1 for fabric conditioner (optional) ... drying is ยฃ2 for 15 mins (needed 30 mins).
Not cheap but convenient and everything washed, dried and away.
We've lit the fire too ... manky day after the beautiful last few.

Stopped in Upwell, tied up, thirty seconds later heavens opened its now very wet out there. No fuel, no chimney so no fire can be lit, might put central heating on later.

We christmas elves must be about it ... hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go . On which subject we went in the Boat House, Braunston a week ago and they had a christmas tree and display on a table top ... to advertise christmas is coming ... to get dining bookings. Of course if there was no decorated tree in early September we'd obviously all forget it happened in December Rog Remind me, what happens in December? Phil

"Stopped in Upwell, tied up"
Old vulnerable people of Upwell, shield yourselves!
Upwell. Plague village now.
