I wondered ... is it too early to mention that if Mr Stabby 's potato boat is like a coffin then Telemachus 's boat is like a crematorium ? Rog

So are you moored by the res below Poolstock, or at Dover Lock ?

At the aptly named Scotsman’s Flash, a mile or so before Poolstock locks. So if tonight there is a repeat performance, no one can be surprised when we rush naked out of the boat.

Reservoirs every time - busy with walkers, dogs, bikes, etc but had a decent night there more than once...
Gives you an early start to contact crt when Poolstock locks won't work in the morning ….
Glad to hear you and Jeff (and clothes and boat) made it OK yesterday.
Enjoy Liverpool

Poor old soldier, give him a pat from us. My knee's been good for 25 days (fingers crossed) but I've taken it steady following advice and hopefully it's now settled down. My neice has finished her treatments and has an appointment re cancer in August, and at the Anti Coagulation clinic in September, so hopefully before her 18 th birthday she may be all clear. Jane's sister has also finished her radio therapy, and is clear until a 6 month check up. All going well to be honest and thanks for asking Rog

Thanks all. To be honest, what with our bad night and early start, I think we’ll stop before Poolstock Lock. Which is about an hour or less away. But early for us, but we still have 2 days to reach Litherland so should be OK. Bit late now but we moored last Wednesday in Wigan by drydocks. It was fine and quiet. Had a good night out in the town as well. Nice place, friendly people and good bars. Had a few naughty school kids hassling is going up the Wigan flight but no damage. Obviously it’s a matter of opinion but I wouldn’t overnight at Litherland, it’s safe but horrible. Melling is a lovely mooring and the trip into the docks from there makes a nice days cruising. Enjoy anyway.

George Formby was from Wigan. His statue is in the shopping centre. I rather like his cheeky style. Although, let's face it, the 1950s were really boring.
I like Wigan.

What had my post to do with your admiration for George Formby ?
You altered my post and then misquoted me ... am I missing something ?
