Cruised past these last week up near Leamington, nice boats I thought. That’s all.

Ruislip is lovely.
Would do me for a day boaty fix when/if we sell ours.
I do like that wide beam ... much more handsome than a wide 'narrow' boat don't you think.

Yes, for a fat boat it has charm, unlike this one I spotted.

We call that 'the goddamned Bleucher' from the film Shout at the Devil.
Nice family on board ... no idea what the boat was built for ... very unusual.

Ruislip is an ex BW river Lea tug I think. The barge in first picture is one for bargemast to comment on. I can't quite get my head around it. I think its an English built copy of a dutch steilsteven.

It is one half of a catamaran that was being built by someone in Purley for around the world trip about 15 years ago.

Yes, for a fat boat it has charm, unlike this one I spotted. This is a futuristic design, secretly developed by CRT maintenance department. It's ingenious design with overhanging sponsons enable it to moor to banks with shallow edges yet still be able to be charged the fat boat extra price loading

I think its an English built copy of a dutch steilsteven. As you can still see part of the stern of this barge, it should be obvious that it's not the fat Tjalk like stern of a steilsteven, this is a real original Dutch built Luxemotor of around the 1920's. And so is the one on the other photo "Animo", as a matter of fact, I know who their owners are. Peter.

The boats are on Mr Priest's moorings, but I don't know the owners. There's a fine collection of assorted boats usually moored there. The 'goddamned Bleucher' is on the old restaurant boat mooring at the Radford bottom lock. Thanks for the history bills , I often wondered on it's origins and would love to have a look around. Rog

These moorings are owned by Steve Priest and another Brinklow Boat Services owner Rex Waine.
They own the boats that are moored there too, the first Luxemotor is Steve Priest pride and joy, and "Animo" is one of Rex Wains boats.
Peter.
