Confused - what's CWDF got to do with the price of smoked salmon? For 13kg of propane we've been paying around 26 Pounds.
When you say cold beer, do you put a bottle of beer by the butane bottle valve and open that valve so as the gas escapes the valve area gets really cold? So... beer 3 Pounds/bottle, 28 Pounds to get it cold?
You're weird.

We have a 3way fridge, gas, 12v dc, 240v AC. One night on hook up, cruising limited to 4 odd hours due to an overheating Rottweiler so gas is the preferred fuel for running the fridge I'm not that weird, I like cold beer and not being rinsed

Gazza - You lost me on "overheating Rottwieler". Is your dog sick, or does this mean something else. (Amazing we think we speak the same language? )

Its a rip off to say the least Gazza I have been filling bottles for years it helped that we had a filling station for our LPG conversions though. Calor just dont know what to charge so they think or a outragous price double it then add a 0 on the end!!!!

We can't get under the bridges with the hood up so no shade. He's well enough, just trying to keep the exposure to heat to a minimum. Sadly no room or power enough for A/C on here. It's better to do a bit of cruising in the morning then can it before it gets too hot for him.

I'd love to ditch calor, it may be cheaper to go for an efficient fridge, I bet I've spent £100+ all told on butane since May - this includes an emergency ration of camping gaz 907 incase I can't get 4.5kg butane which was looking like a possibility.

Yeah, you could have paid 16 Quid and had the other 32 Quid for investing in J-cloths.

The boat was 1/4 mile away The one I've just replaced ran out last Saturday, we use a fair bit between cooking and the fridge. Getting it online is OK, but not often convenient while doing a 100 mile journey.

For what it's worth, here are a couple of things I've found helpful with my fridge, which runs off of the 12v system. Firstly, make sure it has sufficient ventilation at the rear, this may mean pulling it outwards by an inch or two. Secondly, three or four times a year, pull it out completely and clean the dust off of the cooling veins with a paintbrush. Thirdly, if it has an icebox at the top and you don't have frozen food, fill the icebox up with sachets of Capri-Sun (£2 for 10 at Iceland) , and run the fridge on maximum when you are cruising. When you moor, turn the fridge down to minimum and the semi-frozen sachets of Capri-Sun will keep the fridge cool overnight.

Yes, we have more than adequate ventilation, the fridge lives in the cockpit, it's in a cabinet with plenty of ventilation top and bottom. I had it out during the week to clean the burner as it was starting to get a bit flaky to light. Not too much in the way of cobwebs this time! No ice box, it's a Waeco, part of the Dometic group that replaced the old Electrolux RM range. It's not a bad fridge to be fair. Go outdoors is in store only, 7 miles by car to Peterborough, 28 miles to Bedford, 37 to Loughborough, 39 to MK and 43 to Nottingham, buyers premium in Nassington looks cheap now
