A bit late posting this today, Delta got me searching for black pussycats. Having seen the size of some of these 'beasts' I'm now off to hide under the quilt and shiver... anyway....

From Sandbach we catch trains into Stockport and Furness Vale to collect the car, and take it on that day back to the boat in Sandbach. The next day I take the car alone to our final destination near Nantwich so that it is waiting for us when we turn up in the boat on our final run; I took two trains from Nantwich-Crewe & Crewe-Sandbach to return to the boat which is on the Trent & Mersey Canal in Sandbach, 15 minutes’ walk from the station.
Then we make the very small jump to Middlewich where we are for three nights, and where meet another Thunderboater - Ricco. Slinking away at 5am we turn left into the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal where the locks are now taking us uphill. We follow this to its end, turn left for Nantwich where w ego over the aqueduct and a bit beyond, do a U-turn and head back a bit for the Hurleston Locks and into the Llangollen Canal, where it is our intention to overwinter and enjoy the scenery when the hordes have all gone home and we’ll have the canal all to ourselves!
We say ”See you later” to our boat and begin our 8 day car journey back to northern Finland, with the first stop in the town of Stamford, Lincolnshire. The next day sees us having a wander around Ely, Cambridgeshire, which is where this album finishes. Tomorrow, at 9pm, I’ll post Album 7, the last set of photos in this series.
On clicking the link and seeing all the photos appear at once, I would urge you to click on the first photo to enlarge it, and click the little i (information) sign top right for the text I have added to appear. Then you may click the forwards arrow to continue to the next photo, or use your keyboard arrow buttons.
(Edit March 2018 - photo link removed as photos no longer exist on my Google Photos account. Try 'Witchy & Foxy Up North' - Summer 2017 - for more tales of derring-do)
