Probably one of the greatest investment opportunities in our lifetime, which is what I'm currently doing with my pension pot after discussion with my F.A. The 2003 techbubble burst / 2008 banking fiasco had nothing on this unprecedented drop!

Was it Tina Turner that said we all need a hero? Bonnie Tyler she lives just down the road here when she's not lost in France

That’s the one, mad max song, Tina was and is stunning. Your chocolate made things? Were they chocolate covered rice crispies? Cornflakes and raisins. 'Green and Blacks' chocolate. Rice Crispie cakes are made with melted marshmallows and toffees. ....and dammit but I dont have any! I have marshmallows and rice crispies..not much chocolate....but no toffees

A mate, who's lost quite a bit of his investment in shares, can't wait to get back from Spain to invest more ... his view is the rise in share values will match the fall ... just take slightly longer Rog

I think you are very wrong. Millions of people are facing financial annihilation already and we are inexorably headed for the deepest, longest recession any of us have ever known. There simply will not be money to piss up the wall if this carries on for another three months or more. 2020 will be a year that lives in history for hundreds of years to come. p.s. it's heading not headed, the latter is an aberration of American origin. The whole English language is an 'aberration'.

I think we are being conditioned to accept "social distancing" as the new norm. Fear is a great driver and I think we will evermore be encouraged to view fellow citizens, even friends and family members, with grave suspicion. Its a bit like Stalinism on steroids. Henceforth we should stay indoors and obtain information from approved providers only. Stay at Home! Stay Safe! Save the NHS! In today's News: "UK will have to live with some restrictions until coronavirus vaccine is developed, say officials Normal life will stay on hold until a virus vaccine becomes available in about 18 months, officials have said Senior sources said only 'exit strategy' is a vaccine or a cure, meaning UK will adjust to 'new normal' until then" Police look on as cyclists stop at a closed road at Surrey beauty spot Box Hill near Dorking during coronavirus lockdown

"The terrifying reports that tell the truth about how lockdown ends - there will be NO return to normal: America’s top experts explain how the nation faces mass digital surveillance" - 5G!
"Gatherings of a certain size would still be banned, and remote work encouraged" - that will get rid of trades unions and workers asking for better wages and conditions!
"plans call for the construction of a vast digital surveillance system to track movements of all" - apart from those running the system, of course!
"Such a system, deployed with success in authoritarian China, would be certain to raise difficult questions about privacy and individual liberty." -
"the Chinese lack any notion of human rights, animal rights, do not follow strict pollution laws, massive government subsidies resulting in cheap and nasty products, no health & safety laws, no laws to protect the environment … absolutely fuck all in fact!
And yet strangely all the protest groups over here in the West are strangely muted when it comes to criticising China for some or all of the above. Where’s Greta? Where’s Extinction Rebellion? Where’s the Guardian & Twatter? Where’s the Wimminz groups? Where’s the effnicks groups? (you don’t see many darkies in China, why is that?)"

The purpose of isolation isn't like an air raid naughtyfox ... wait until it's safe outside ... it is to restrict the speed with which we catch the virus to try and ensure the number of critically ill vulnerable people we have AT ONE TIME doesn't swamp our NHS. It's not a secret ... the daily government and advisers briefings have been banging on about it since day one. By isolating we can slow the spread because we catch it off people ... but it's still here among us. Rog

One in six Britons could lose their jobs amid the economic chaos caused by coronoavirus The Government has introduced a scheme worth £330billion to provide 80 per cent of the salaries of workers furloughed by employers. - yeah, Rishi Sunak holds out a bunch of carrots but as you put your hand out he pulls them away! It's just a loan. The New Economics Foundation point to four groups of workers who remain at risk: Three of them - those on fixed-term contracts, people on zero-hours contracts and part-timers who are not doing all the hours they want - may not qualify for the Government's help if their employers decide to fire them. The fourth group - the self-employed - will not get any financial help until June, by which time many businesses could already have folded.

The fourth group - the self-employed - will not get any financial help until June, by which time many businesses could already have folded. It will all bounce back. Demand will be there for services and businesses will meet that demand. I have been suprised by how resilient the economy is. A month ago I’d have predicted mass long term unemployment and rioting etc. Now I can see a slow move back into normality over the coming summer. I think I’m helped by talking with the younger generation. They tend to be more positive than us oldies.
