In reality, things are pretty normal in my everyday life. Apart from wearing a mask in shops little else has changed for me. As per the last few years, I’m boating. Visiting pubs and generally wandering as usual. Everything is pretty much normal here in Kokkola. There are some going round with masks and visors on, but perhaps they work in old fossils' homes and have to look the part. The Witch is really worried she is going to catch Covid and die. She watches too much 'News' on the TV and I am wondering if I should just cut the plug off? She doesn't like the idea of me going to Helsinki at all, and bringing Covid back with me from that Nest of Infection. Well, only 4 weeks to school holidays, and soon time to buy plane & train tickets! Pirrko is a wise witch.

Badgers not rabbits. Dachs is German for badger. Beat me to it, I used to breed long haired miniatures Phil

The 47 is more reliable than the 80, to be fair.

We had 2 miniature short haired Dachshunds when I was young. Nice enough dogs but vicious if you were foolish enough to try to take a bone off them. They were bred for hunting rabbits. They more or less died out in this country and for good reason. Their long body led to disc problems which would eventually do for them, they'd lose the use of their back legs, very rarely reached the age of 10. They seem more popular now, apparently there was one in a film or something. Watch a film you enjoy, buy the dog for a small fortune then watch it die young. Not great, really. never mind silly dogs, how about silly owners. My very elderly neighbour has had 7 dachs over the past 30 years and according to him they all needed back surgery. He never learned.
the up-side is that he recommended the small vet practice just round the corner who have MRI and do spinal surgery. Both our mini-Schnauzers have needed ventral fenestration surgery on the vertebrae in their necks. Thank you Petplan !

Badgers not rabbits. Dachs is German for badger. Give me two dozen! That should be enough to get the old codger on his way! At Pälkäne now... pretty good run all the way, pretty scenery and perfect autumn weather, sunny, fluffy clouds, not too warm. Another 2.5 hours I reckon, to the south coast... literally, my daughter lives at Jollas right beside the sea.

The 47 is more reliable than the 80, to be fair. The early Sa80s were rubbish, but were modded to make them better. an AK could be thrown in mud and still work an early SA80 only had to look at dust and it jammed!!

Arrived Jollas (Helsinki) 2120, good thing I still remember the roads and which lanes to get into once in 'the city centre'. Thinking of 10-18 Oct trip to the boat... but... the Witch does not like the idea, and says she is not coming because she will catch Covid. I'm thinking it's a load of bollocks and simply 'government control of the sheeple'. So I am in a difficult position - woman's Wrath or rusted-up engine? Can't think of anyone who might like to come with me. Nemesis?

Haha - you can bet anything published will have been 'doctored'!
