When we eventually get into spring I’ll be getting ready to clean the cream paintwork on my roof. It’s not damaged just a little grubby and I’d like to give it a cosmetic lift. What product would you suggest I use that effective but also safe to be pressure washed off into the water. When I ran my limos and their roofs started to look grubby I would spray them with a weak solution of TFR traffic film remover which I think was developed for spraying on the side curtains of articulated wagons. After leaving for a few minutes the grim lifted and washed away with little effort but I’m sure it’s not safe running into open water so suggestions please

The data sheet for this TFR will tell you of any hazards. If it shifts road grime, then it is probably nasty in open water. Soap and a stiff brush is probably safest and effective, but hard work.

Just spoken to my local motor factors and they now stock EU regulated environmentaly friendly TFR so I’m popping down to take a look as years ago I also ran a Motor Factors and then the TFR was very powerful nasty stuff but apparently according to one of my old competitors EU banned the stuff so now it’s a safe option as many wagons are washed down on open yards with spill off allowed to run to natural ground so it has to comply with EU regulations. I’ll take a look and update later.
