This one is on the tideway near tower bridge. Not very accessible to inspect for numbers but maybe a message to the seller? m.apolloduck.com/boat/barges-skutsje/394505Boat called "Mooi Maisga" apparently. Previously used for racing. Thanks, I'll get in touch with them

Indeed they are but generally very low headroom which is why I don't like them as a potential boat to own. Nice boats to see around though. Raising the cabin would spoil the lines. you could always chop your legs off at the knees. A 92 year old neighbour told me one of her friends has had to have half his leg amputated.I had to stop myself from asking top or bottom half...π

Thanks, I really appreciate the help. Your cousin's boat details would certainly help my research, especially the original registered number which is the side of the boat 2/3 from the back. I have all the numbers ( 143 were built) and then I could see if it has the original name and who built it. I am soecifically looking for the 'lost' 20 skutsjes. Any help at all would be great Hello Brian, I just coΓ―ncidentally had a look at the forum and found your new-and interesting subject. You must have been in a hurry to type your text I presume, as you write that there were 143 SkΓΌtsjes built, you've missed a very important "1" as the dutch website states that the number of registered "SkΓΌtsjes" is 1143 which is quite a difference of course.
I wish you success with your researches.
Peter.

Hi Peter nice to see you here. What is the best way to ID a Skjutsje quickly by eye? My cousin told me the bollards on the stern are different but I have not really looked that hard at these boats yet. Happy to learn

Different than what ? they are certainly different than on Pickwell & Arnold built boats. Peter.

Hi Peter glad to see you posting, hope things are getting a bit better for you. Thanks John, not much has changed over here, and I'm still hoping that things will finally get better, it's more than time to get a chance to have at least some enjoyment and trouble free years before it's too late. Peter.
