Why are the paralympics not integrated with the Olympics? There should be one opening ceremony, all the separate events then one closing ceremony.
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/disability-sport/37298448
Obviously they couldn't intermingle & run the events combined (altho the boxing would be 'interesting' )
But why make it a full separate event?
What say the sporting chunderboat massiv?

It's because disabled people are being discriminated against. If the 'Lympics are integrated, then I say let's also do away with those Disabled parking spots at supermarkets because I want to park my car right next to the store door for a change - why should I walk? Equality for all? - All can suffer equally!
How about Canal Dredging as an Olympic Sport?

I say it looks like I'm not the only dyslexic on the board.

I thought we were living in the 21st century, not the dark ages. Equality for all!

Back on Topic (almost) I have to admit having watched the "last leg's coverage" each night how cool the whole thing has been... not so much the events but the commitment, support, camaraderie, humbleness, determination... of feck - I can't come up with enough superlatives...
The program (last leg that is) has shown the real side of the athletes... NOT the Political correct side but the humour and self deprecation exhibited by both presenter and competitors, coupled with REAL WARMTH has been emotional.
I do agree, there shouldn't be a para games but they should be integrated with the main ones - making the event last longer but by virtue, giving these inspiring people the credit and audience reward they deserve. Not one of them interviewed has been full of "wo is me, I need to park near the door at Asda" .
Watching their sign off last night, brought tears to my eyes and I'm not ashamed to admit it!

I've been saving 'unusual' 2 Pound, 1 Pound and 50p coins and this afternoon tidying up my 'miscellaneous garbage' at home I also put these away, but first had a look at them and removed any 'repeats'. One of the 50p coins seems to be from the Paralympics, and I see from Google there's another one (and possibly a third?). Here's two:
