Two of my sons were bringing the boat nearer home yesterday, when they saw a long snake swimming in the canal, they had just come through Wheelock ,Idid not know there were snakes in the canals ,they also got jammed in a lock aproaching Rode heath, quite a day, ps no booze consumed honest.hilda

Saw grass snake swimming at Sandiway near Northwich a fear years ago, so they are about.

Snakes are very good swimmers so not unusual to see them on the water, they do investigate boats as well, we have had them peering through the window at us from the side deck when we lived on a cruise. Phil
