Whilst listening to the news today, I heard that a local man was admitted into A & E with head injuries after being attacked by a 19yo lad Armed with a cordless drill.
Made me think about how things can change so quick, I mean, one minute you're walking along minding your own business and the next Bosch! 🙄

HS2 set to cost £100bn, that's a lot of tax. Tax seems to be irrelevant, it's spend, spend, spend, make some profit, feck the future!

But (hopefully some profit back in the long term) - otherwise it doesn't make sense. Wish the respective Govs and tax payers could see this when it comes to the NHS...
I'd better shut up now - don't want to derail a thread....

The next election may be interesting. Labour really ought to be stepping back and getting their act together. They pulled Tony Blair out of a hat, they need a new trick. Maybe they could try honesty, that could be popular with the voters.

Those wishing to 'wish upon a star' ... the Lyrid meteor shower should be visible from tonight to the 22nd ... wonder what you'll wish for?

I was cheered by a report that over 50 patients have left our local hospital having recovered from Covid-19. I would like to see recovery numbers given daily as well as deaths.

Interesting they mention a 1.9% fee for processing PayPal or credit cards. Presumably anyone getting profit from this will donate that profit to the fund itself. Oh I am too cynical .. £36k is useful cash.

Maybe they could try honesty, that could be popular with the voters. Honesty is generally good but in Labour's case, this would result in even less votes for them. I mean, many people were deceived into believing that they could have fantastic public services, large pay rises all round for public workers, even free broadband for everyone. All paid for by a tiny percentage of people. Effectively free money for the vast majority, what's not to like?
