Gazza, Are you not concerned about this key worker child care? Gathering together key worker's children seems like madness to me. I don't have a solution but it seems a sure fire way to spread the virus around key worker's families as efficiently as possible while all the comparatively useless to society types have their children isolated or at least under their control. Not in my case TBH, Mrs Gazza has had a face fit for a mask and passed. She is more than aware of appropriate infection control being a palliative care nurse. In the dwarfs childminder setting (at the moment at any rate) is her and a baby. The childminder is up to speed on what she needs to do from a hygiene point of view. Something has to give TBH. My job may actually come under keyworker as we are involved with the repair and maintenance of the sewer network - we keep the shit flowing if you like. Our work depends on our customers being able to work - hopefully that continues š¤¢ The whole country can't come to a standstill... You are good people. xx

you really are a twat Ross You could be right.... but I am a self-isolating twat at the moment and not visiting pubs like all those whose photographs appear in the Daily Mail from last night. Any of those people should be refused medical help if they come down with Covid-19.

now think about all the other patients/sickness/diseases/nursing that will continue to be needed ..and think about the NHS staff having to buy food in a supermarket after their shifts, standing in queues for the checkout with all the grasping old people.Ā Cross-contamination all round!Ā There's no avoiding the plague now, it's been spread around everywhere.Ā Coronavirus on every surface.Ā Why wash your hands when its now in the water? Not in our case - Mrs Gazza comes home and gets showered and changed before she mixes with the great unwashed. Me being a dutiful husband takes on the lions share of running the house, she will only shop on her days off. You are in danger of going down the tattoo route with this one.

Much like the twats that put St George cross flags on their cars during the Euros and world cup years - we can now see them in plain sight for what they really are ā¹ļø

It would have been a wise move early on for the PM to do some sort of proper bonding with the people. Something like asking ordinary people to challenge anyone clearly overshopping.
Yes it could end up in fights but pressure from other shoppers could have been quite an effective way to stop it.
Obviously the supermarkets like the business so it's a bit of an awkward one plus one has to wonder how much pasta Mr Johnson has stored away.

You are in danger of going down the tattoo route with this one. Point taken. But... I was talking to Pirkko this afternoon after having read a nurse's comments on t'Internet about having come off a 48-hour shift and there's sod all to buy in the supermarket on her way home. I am of the opinion that, if tents can be thrown up all of a sudden, then why not tents for NHS staff - as a canteen (I mean, a place where they can get PROPER meals, not just the usual English bus garage fare of sausage, egg, beans & chips!), and as food shops? The NHS could ship in supplies from the big supermarkets. This is so that NHS staff could stay 'on site' and not need to travel home. Of course, this isn't suitable for those who want to go home (eg. kids & husband to see). But it would help to see that NHS staff don't have to queue up in shops on their way to work, or on their way home. The comment I read also said that NHS staff haven't been provided with proper protective clothing.

My lads friend had his freezer die so he called up the shop to see what they had in stock for same day delivery, answer nothing available. Seems the panic buyers have bought them all to store all the food they are hoarding. Unbelievable!!!

Why shouldn't they stay on site for a while? Accommodation can be built quickly - tents if nothing else. Why should they? -to save having to go home. Saves petrol and time. Not everyone is married with kids. In this time of crisis, it makes sense to have some efficiency. At the bus garage where I work (worked!?) there is an apartment tacked on, and I could have happily slept and showered and cooked there if ever I had been needed 'permanently' or 'on standby'. In fact I have slept there a few times when the trek home has been too daunting with icy roads, or for other reasons. Nurses/doctors/medical persons needed on site 24/7 should be looked after 24/7. Have you never watched M*A*S*H ?

They are not robots, they are real people and they are not commuting to the other side of the world. Jeez, I don't know why I bothered even taking you seriously.

There is not enough staff car parking let alone anywhere to build a tented village. while this may not be true for all trusts, Iād be surprised if KGH was the exception to the norm!

"NHS workers shouldn't be able to shop alongside elderly in special hours because they are 'cross-infecting everybody' due to inadequate personal protection, senior heart doctor warns Supermarkets have been warned against inadvertently accelerating the spread of coronavirus in the elderly population by allowing potentially infected NHS workers to mix with them in reduced opening times. Many big stores have launched a so-called 'silver hour' where pensioners can shop in restocked aisles to avoid them falling victim to panic-buying. Frontline health staff have now also been allowed in at these times after a string of viral videos showed exhausted medics returning from work to find empty shelves. But a doctor has pointed out the scheme lumps together those most vulnerable to the disease with those most likely to be infected by it." "Which means they are also infecting their children when they get home, which means those children are infecting the school staff while the schools are staying open for them. The children will also be infecting other key workers' children, who will infect their parents (perhaps delivery drivers, supermarket workers, pharmacists etc), and so the country ends up with all its key workers sick." www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8137575/NHS-workers-cross-infecting-everybody-inadequate-personal-protection.html
