My spies tell me part of the facebook generation have lost their grip and are discussing it as if it means certain death. Another part think it's a Chinese plot. Another that it's a Western plot. Another that it doesn't exist. People say money is the route of all evils, I've always thought ease of communication follows at a close second.

Been out for a walk and a loaf, and seen the dustbin men going about their normal business and buses still running, although empty. I know some are willing to report life going on as normal in the UK ... but the evidence of my own eyes suggests that isn't true. Virtually no traffic (the few vehicles we saw were firms vans presumably working) and the only people were dog walking or queueing at shops and chemists (in one case for several blocks). I am amazed how submissively we have accepted this fairly draconian close down. I have seen the sparks fly when adults have been asked to take their drinks back indoors on weekend summer nights ... so would have expected some obvious and loud resistance. Glad that hasn't been the case, but surprised Rog

" Now 'overzealous' police order corner shops to stop selling Easter eggs because they are not 'essential items' " Police Community Support officers patrol Piccadilly Gardens in central Manchester and speak to a man about his journey "No, Guv, honest, I ain't carrying no eggs!"

" Now 'overzealous' police order corner shops to stop selling Easter eggs because they are not 'essential items' " The police/council officials have been told to 'shut up' politely of course.

People say money is the route of all evils, I've always thought ease of communication follows at a close second. It's the 'love of money' and 'root' but Im guessing you chose route.

I keep reading the thread title and wondering if it is a question.
Answer: no. I don't mind less idiots in fact I think less idiots would be a Good Thing.

With reference to facebook the two are pretty closely linked. Ease of communication and money. Which number is Mark currently in the world's richest? Must be top 3 I think. And yes it is root but route works nicely as well. ETA having quickly checked he was not in the top 5 as of 2019. I reckon he'll be top 3 after this. The money must be rolling in at breakneck speed now with so many agitated and upset people around. Probably millions of pounds an hour. Celebrate the good times !

The bins was the first thing that I thought of if things did start shutting down. It's going to get very bad very fast if they stop bin collections. That's a real nightmare situation. In Southend on Sea the bin collections are happening normally Its the 'public waste bins'..they didn't empty before lock down and although not many people and shops shut the sea gulls are spreading all the rubbish that was in overfill bins
