I never said your head was buried in the sand or even meant to imply it. I'm all for peaceful means myself I would be a bit of a Gandhian in that respect. I think that the people in some form are going to have to take direct control of the waterways to ensure their survival. Unfortunately I think it will have to get a lot worse before that happens.

Yes, I think you are right. It is noticeable how there is much support for those who have felt CRT's heavy hands and the offers of crowd funding. I'd certainly be willing to throw some money in if I felt the cause was just and genuine. I wish I could help in other ways but I'm no legal expert. Joining the NBTA, joining in with rallys and sending letters to government officials are all better than doing nothing. I guess we will just have to wait for the big court case which will untangle the web. I admire Ghandi too BTW.

I think it's best to start small begin with the waterways, demonstrate a method of direct democratic control, then take over England. When we are no longer part of Europe they won't be able to send their troops to interfere.

Oi, don't take the piss. lol Why the heck not lol Only chance we might get of a real revolution in England since Cromwell ...and look at America. They are such a free thinking fearless country since the revolution...not! It all seems to go in cycles really. The people rebel due to suppression by the few. New control freaks take their place, then it starts all over again. We haven't had a revolution for a while now. Either we are due one, or the elite are intellegent enough now to see the warning signs. Certainly as you say, the improved communications we have now mean it's easier to spot the trends in public opinion. It's the quiet ones you have to worry about!

Ah but the quiet one make use of the improved communications. Hence why the Gov wanted the enhanced intercept laws.

Unfortunately, like anything which is supposed to improve national security, it also impinges on the privacy of the majority of law abiding citizens.

You might be mixing up the EU with NATO though. no I think you need to read the Lisbon treaty. It gave the eu powers to send in its police or army against a nation state that went against eu rulings. Even though technically up until now the eu doesn't have its own army or police. The setting up of these is covered in the Lisbon treaty as well.

Okay it might not be fair to ask you to read the Lisbon treaty which is a weighty tome wrote in europoliticlegalise and I can't remember the relevant sections. As I must admit I haven't read it all myself. But I lived in Ireland during their referendum on the Lisbon treaty. A very intelligent friend of mine bought a copy of the treaty and read it from cover to cover, when he came across one of these controversial sections he would read it out to us. It's when I woke up to the reality of the European project and how it had become much more than a single market for trade.

Maybe the Chinese might like to buy the waterways, they'd run it better than the present shower.
