Have you "inadvertently" made unleavened flat bread?

very nearly ...... my Mother's bread used to be the size and consistency of a house brick this is ...... sort of rustic ...... and a bit odd looking .......but it's not quite flat In fact it looks a bit like a giant rock cake ....... I just hope it won't blunt the knife too much

I have become an expert at soda bread apart from one batch when I fell asleep for 2 hours!!! I could have used it as a mud weight

Well I have now tried it ....... sort of tough leather on the top ..... rock hard on the bottom ....... and soggy in the middle I cut a very thin slice of it (difficult because it wanted to stick to the knife) and fried it with bacon then poured baked beans over the top to heat, I ate it ........... however my sister always reckons I will eat anything ...... I don't think I will bother with the rest of it ...... I suppose I could feed it to the ducks ...... it would slow them down enough that I would be able to catch them ...... on the other hand if they got to the water they would sink and I couldn't have roast duck I have been studying the recipe and I can see where I went wrong ...... I can't add ...... or rather I added too much ...... water that is When I changed the measures from cups to millilitres I got it wrong and added about 50% too much water Oh well !!! I have enough flour and yeast etc for another go

Speaking of food I have not been to a supermarket for a couple of weeks and started running out of staples.
I can still get bacon from the beer shop so that's okay.
Mornings I usually just have a bowl of oats with water. A little bit boring so I decided to try that immediately followed by bacon.
Nice. No need for more complexity. Always liked simple food but got a bit hooked on pasta. The small shops seem to be doing price scams on pasta now and no I won't go to supermarkets as not quite ready to die.
Tomorrow I will try bacon porridge.

I can only make cake in imperial measurements, though my bread recipe is in gsms and mls but it DOES work well. Will pm you my recipe if you like. Take care, keep safe, fed, warm and well x
