Oh come on fellas - I know this place is just a bit of 'fun' but does it really HAVE to end up in the playground time and time again? - "my dad's bigger than your dad" etc. Vince & Jim, GO and stand outside the Headmistresses office ... You are both decent, valuable, interesting, passionate and imminently likable fellas in the flesh (not too much flesh mind - keep it decent) - and I'm sure you actually like and respect each other... perhaps even value your differences politically ... a bit of 'kindness' goes a long way in this crappy world... You both "make sense" in your own context - in fact, as 'idealistic as I am', Stabby DOES make a lot of sense... AS does Jim...JUST because sometimes they are poles apart, doesn't mean ythey can't share common ground ... go on ... try it... AND as for the rest of you on the sidelines, shouting "fight, fight, fight," - give yourselves a slap... who knows, you might like it lol As you were!

* sorry if the whole world isn't listening to you, out of step with reality. Stop whining, suck it up and get on with it.* Talk about feckin hypocrisy! At least you tried to do something for the community around you, with the ACM, shame it didn't go anywhere.

I know I'd enjoy watching a performance. Nomination completed and I'm sure any Lottery cash you get your hands on will be well spent. Here you go, half the cast are wrinklies, age from 8 to 80. There's more on Youtube, they will turn up in the side menu. I just spotted the guy in the shadows on the pre start screen, that's Carlo Sartori, The Italian Busby Babe, thesefootballtimes.co/2017/10/06/carlo-sartori-the-italian-busby-babe/, a grand chap. If you, like some here, have a terror and blind hatred of clowns, don't worry, none to be seen, in costume anyway

The problem arises from my criticism of HMG, these days along with half the tory press. A couple of people just get nasty. Some would prefer it to be a tory dessert, tumbleweed covered in custard. No lemon zest left to lighten the mood. Anyway I am Unvinceable!

I don't like circuses. The way they get elephants to do handstands, they must have to beat the shit out of them to get them to do that. And then the clowns, sometimes with darkened faces. I think we should move on from animal cruelty and racism. And then we have the female trapeze artists, so little clothing on, they are more or less waving their fannies in the faces of a load of young kids. Quite why it's allowed is beyond me. I mean, if a teacher rocked up for work like that she's be fired. Billy Smart, Benny Hill, perverts, the pair of them.

That video I posted will give you an idea of what's possible. I've not worn clown makeup for years. Another Skylight Video, Mr Kite, is an homage to the trad style, in honour of the 250th anniversary. As for skimpy aerialist costume, nowt that wouldn't be seen on a beach or at the pool. Get a life.

I assume you are able to identify the shit-stirring drivel sometimes offered by Ricco for personal amusement purposes, probably following too many afternoon beers. But just in case, that was an example. FYI, sometimes you get sincerity but only when the subject revolves around how the lefties are trying to tell him what to do or possibly how he thinks no government at all would be a good thing.

The problem with the skimpy aerialists cozzies is in the eye of the beholder, probably going "phwoar". Kids, teenage boys apart, won't view it with that eye. Mind you there's a video going the rounds of a magic act where a woman does the disappearing and appearing red silk scarf, eventually naked, she pulls it out of her chuff. Swmbo wasn't amused when I suggested, while it's anatomically impossible for me, I might get a volunteer from the audience... It was a German adult cabaret, no kids, before the prudes start. 😂 Circus of Horrors, an English adult show, a naked contortionist woman appears out of a big glass bottle. Best trick in the show was chopping the leg off an audience member's leg with a chainsaw.

A nice summation but falls down on the fact that I only drink a bottle of wine every 2 nights, and not a drop ever passes my lips before 9.00 p.m.

I must admit that I'd not heard of it being mixed with magic tricks. I bet there are no end of gender studies dissertations about how it occupied some hazy middle ground between socially licenced exploitation and liberated self-expression. I once read that The Moulin Rouge at one time sometimes staged performances of the Can-Can where the dancers appeared sans knickers...a bit more exciting than the standard fare...but the Germans have been in a league of their own for a long time. During the Wiemar period, Berlin had a club for every taste imaginable. Very naughty.

Going back a bit, I can see both sides.
One side says your committing suicide by clamouring for a lockdown the other side says a lot about someone who asks for something knowing that the right thing to do might possibly ruin them.
P.s I still think Jim asked for a lockdown because the Torys were not doing it.
P.p.s good luck with the circus Jim.

interesting post thebfg I know this is going totally off piste (but I think everyone who is going to sign the petition for Jim Riley will have already done so by now) thebfg 's post above got me thinking about the type of political "activists" campaign loudly and vociferously outside events or peoples houses. I just have the feeling that both groups represent the worst possible aspects of society. I (and I know many people among my circle of friends) think the whole lot (of all political persuasions) should be armed and put on a deserted island somewhere and left to get on with it. Now don't get me wrong, I am not against demonstrating per se but there is a way and a place to do it. Mindless yobs of any political persuasion are ..... mindless yobs (and something else that I feel is very wrong, is parents dragging young children along to big protest rallies, it's indoctrinating children to think that this is the norm, that if you don't agree with something you jump up and down and scream ..... even if you are in a minority) by the way Jim Riley that is not an attack on remainers as such, its more a comment ongenerally how some sectors of society are unwilling to accept the fact that they have been outvoted and need to accept the majority decision. I agree that on occasion things are close but society will only prosper if people are willing to move on. It does apply to the present situation, if you look round the world you have protests going on for "no lockdown" and also "lockdown now" people shrieking that it should have been earlier and others that it should have been later. As in many cases nobody really knows what the true outcome of decisions on such complex matters will be, so you vote the way you believe and accept the results, whatever they are and get on with things ..... you save the finger pointing until afterwards ...... it is very satisfying to be able to say "I bloody told you so" (and also after a sufficient length of time nobody will know which way you voted and you can just stay quiet if you were proved to be wrong)
Geriatric grumble over
