I can't pick a favourite, but the one which will always have the longest lasting impression on me is The Anchor at High Offley. I love places with no food, no kids and a grumpy landlady, but sells Wadworth's 6X. How can you drink that shite Maxwilly. Tis dredged stuff, straight from the K&A. p.s.........if you want a nice pint of Waddies straight from the barrel, then go to The Raven in Poulshot next time you're in 'Vizes. (Walk to the bottom of Caen Hill flight and turn left towards Worton) I went to the brewery 2 years or so ago, on our one and only venture onto the K&A. They were brilliant and weren't far away from getting us pissed. I also liked their 'Henry' but we don't get that up here! It's my second favourite beer after Fuller's London Pride, but we don't get that up here either. Bummer! Pedigree is a good fallback option though. Plenty of that around up North.

London Pride.....A good pint if kept well, with good clean lines to the pump. (4.5 Stars) Henry's IPA......Drinkable. Not a bad session beer. (3 Stars) Just had a pint of Otters Head for lunch, didn't realise it was 5.8% (Will rate it after an unplanned lunch time snooze)

We slept 3 nights very close to the Kings Lock in Middlewich in August But we didn't go into the pub. I did ring the bells at the church. And the chandlery there doesn't have any brass deckboard rings.

Kings Lock at Middlewich is top of my list at the moment. Don't ever remember going in there. The pub, practicality next door, called the Newton brewery Inn was quite nice as I remember though.
