The last few weeks are best described as hectic, disruptive, and best forgotten about! To draw a line under it all we had a good Long weekend on the boat. First up fetch the dinghy - the pool is getting quite weedy so instead of oars full of hairweed I decided a hybrid punt/paddle approach would be better - worked well bar for the mother of all bollockings from Lucy and Mrs Gazza for not having me life jacket on - to be fair you can stand knee deep in a few places after the prolonged winter flooding π€ Next stop - the pub! First pint since lockdown π»ππ overnight at Friends of the Nene Peartree Farm mooring - peace and tranquility π Friday and Saturday were busy - so much so we didnβt get any pictures! We had friends stay over in their camper van, great time had catching up, drinking beer and messing about in boats (even in the grip of a thunderstorm, skin is waterproof and clothes dry!) Sunday the sun reappeared.... The EAβS contractors had fetched their work boat (just visible in the background - blue with red strip and a gert big tyre strapped to the stern) out for a run - itβs powered by a V12 air cooled Deutz and has a fairly substantial blade on it, substantial enough to clear most of the aquatic growth allowing the faithful old evinrude to take on ferry boat duties! Marc Bolan sang about ride a white swan - he missed the mark a little! The kids had a super time messing around with inflatables, bar was back open and some sense of normality seemed to return to the club. Two week hiatus and then we are full steam ahead for te exotic delights of Peterborough ππ€π»

I do like to see a Sniper dinghy Bit of a classic. A geat little dinghy, Chris used one to go to and from work after we got rid of her cabin cruiser. I fitted it with a 45lb thrust minkota and swapped battery each day. Not sure she missed it in the rain though. Phil

Welcome back so jealous of being out on Gods river. 6 more weeks in the paint shop before I get Loddon back on the river To date we have managed three runs to Wadenhoe, one to the Sailing Club. This year Iβve used more diesel heating up the hot water tank with the Webasto than I have turning the propeller with the engine! The dinghy has been to Peartree farm twice and up Brancey Brook as far as the Aldwincle road bridge. Hopefully the last two weeks of August will see us having a slow amble to Peterborough Yacht club and back, no rush, no real schedule, looking forward to that! 6 weeks?! Letβs hope we get an Indian summer π€

We wouldn't be out until schools have gone back, a hangover from canal days. Going up for a looksee on Tuesday, hopefully a pristine bare metal boat with a coat of primer will greet me
