They don't have enough capacity, has been in decline past four months. Esp Sat afternoon. I blame football. How do I get a bigger battery and how does antenna reach mifi when door closed? the bigger one I got was from amazon I think in the end - not massively bigger (can't recall if it was 1500 or 1800mh but whichever was bigger than the original one. As for the antenna, I drilled another hole through the roof and put it next to the tv one so it's covered by the gland thingy - and a load of sika flex. These antenna things do they enhance wifi signals?..son looking for something for his van to boost the wifi so he can do some of his work remotely..

well having an Ariel outside of the Faraday cage DOES make a big difference and removes the need for dangling it in a porthole. I'd presume it would be the same in a van although the steel is thinner.

Unlike my house internet this mifi goes to sleep and needs a button press to kick in. The idea of a fixed outdoor antenna means I have to get out of bed , where I often have the laptop.

I’d like an external ariel, but I use iPhone and iPad so don’t think it’s possible.

You can turn that "facilty" off from the mifi menu under power saving.

You just need to ensure the router/mifi has an external socket, or even better two external sockets.

Id presumed these need a sim, whereas I’d like to just use the sim/contract that is in the phone.

Smarty, which is owned by Three, do an unlimited data for £18 pm. The great thing is you can stop/ start it whenever you want. It is a great deal if, like me, you only want WI fi when you are using the boat and don't have to pay for the months you aren't. Plus if you recommend ' a friend' you each get a month free. I don't have any friends so that bit didn't work for me...

I’m finding EE better than vodaphone, we have 2 huawei mifi routers, both in same position One for business and one for private use.. Vodaphone gets a max of 4meg. EE gets a max of 46meg. both 4g lte devices both placed on same window!.. I use these because the BT Landline gets 260K, a ridiculous speed, but we do live in a field😉😉
