I'll stick this in Religion, as money is THE religion for most people (including the cash-grasping Church of England who want £8 off everyone who wants to have a look at Ely Cathedral!). Found this in my change when I stopped at our local shop to stock up with beer (sauna evening!): New Finnish 2 Euro coin from year 2020. See the little lion above the FI mark?

So you insist on wearing a mask in shops but won't pay via contactless means? Preferring to handle filthy virus ridden cash instead....

Even my little local brewery has a card machine, it costs them less than taking cash to the bank 10 miles away. I have only used cash once since March cos they wouldn't let me use a card for £5 Its soooo much cleaner.

It means I actually buy less because I just won't use a card for a cup of coffee or small purchases Their loss..I know in scheme of things not much but if you consider how many folks still want to use cash it mounts up.

My Son’s company manufactures and sells cash counting machines. They are currently enjoying there best year ever. As much as the press like to tell us otherwise, cash is very much in demand.

Thought of a cashless society scares the .... out of me. "we are being pushed towards a cashless society. Imagine trying to survive with no bank account in a cashless society? You could also argue that the gas and electric companies could also refuse your custom on the same basis. Imagine coming home from work to your family to find your bank account closed and your gas and electric cut off for good. And all because the companies don’t like the way you vote? Where does it end? I’ll tell you. Once the woke twats get total control (and they’re close) you might be unpersoned yourself because you don’t believe men are women, for example. "This is already well in progress. Cameras track you everywhere along with your “smart” phone, number plate, IP address, credit cards, online accounts and activity and TV habits. This is all stored in data warehouses and sold of to government, commercial and law enforcement customers."

While I always have some cash to hand I'm quite happy to pay by contactless, card or phone. The decision to use the Google pay app when I went away without my wallet (swmbo doesn't like the lump created by wallet in pocket). Had to borrow enough for the weekend from friends. I always have my phone to hand.
