Apparently he has said publicly he does not intend to stand for Tory party leadership. The job doesn't look that great at the moment. Sensible man.
One to watch for the future though. Needs to work on his robot-like voice though. Some elocution lessons might help.
I bet Johnson has a few shares in electric car and renewable energy companies !!

The pipe line is a bit of nothing really. Hardly an atrocity Permission granted in 2016 and then temporarily revoked. They were going to get it eventually. I'll have a read of the land grab later. That looks more interesting.

It all depends on your definition of atrocity. If the cops had showed up on the GU in London in 1996 and started beating people up so that dozens were hospitalised and set aggressive dogs on others where women were bitten on their breasts and there were so many broken bones the count was lost I'm fairly sure we'd still be talking about it. And given all the bleeding-heart speeches about how native Americans have been historically treated by career-mongering politicians and other assorted hand-wringers, isn't it the tiniest bit shocking to see how little has changed? And all because Trump signed a bit of paper that very co-incidentally favoured his bank-balance. It seems quite atrocious to me.

Old story revisited: when we were on our hols in Canada 9 years ago Pirkko's cousin kept correcting me whenever I said 'Indians'. 'We call them First Nations,' says she. 'Well, if (white) Canadians want to be politically correct, why don't they all bugger off back to Europe, and give the Indians their land back?' says I. Her husband leans over and said: 'Not gonna happen!'
Nothing quite paying your respect with a fancy name, whilst stealing their possessions after murdering most of their ancestors. Anyway, land ownership is theft, and I'm surprised they didn't charge us £5/night to stay with them.

"SNP MP Margaret Ferrier still refuses to resign after 800-mile round trip with symptoms"
"Ms Sturgeon and other senior SNP figures have called for her to go, but the £82,000-a-year MP remained silent over the weekend about her future."
Clearly addicted to the money-for-an-easy-life. Who paid for her train tickets?

what an odd confused and apparently irrelevant and meaningless anecdote.

Not odd. Not confused. Not irrelevant neither meaningless - see above nemesis's remark about American Indians and 'How The West Was Won' / 'Once Upon a Time in the West'.

But you're missing the point that this was always going to get permission regardless of who was president. Obama supported it but wanted some rerouting. Others may say disposing of a long drawn out affair quickly is a good idea. A proposal he had made before being president. The protests happened during Obama's presidency.

It doesn’t really matter what others may say. It was atrocious how it was done. Trump personally benefitted financially which is disgusting whichever way you look at it.

I think the natives were fairly supportive of the notion of re-routing. Yes, some of the protest occurred during Obama's time, and they were successful. But the shit hit the fan when Trump became president.

Most American presidents wait until they leave office to cash in their vested interests and fill their pockets. Trump doesn’t care he is blatantly using his position to fill his and his families boots, it is obscene. I think him having COVID might just be an advert for a pharmaceutical company and its new wonder cure. Or am i just getting cynical.
