They would have come anyway, simply because they could. I met a bunch of Poles who had decided to head back east simply because of the daily abuse. They were little more than kids. They all said the violence they endured each day had increased since the referendum. It made me feel proud to be British. Funny... they still seem to be in the UK... I think they lied to you about going back... unless by 'east' they meant East Anglia. Kids? -like the 'bearded children' coming over in their dinghies... no qualms about the illegality of it all. Obviously your life hasn't been adversely affected by the import of cheap labour. Rose-tinted specs, or snout-in-the-trough? And a hatred of decent wages and working conditions which have been fought for and hard-won through the centuries. You are a nasty poison-tongued cunt. Nothing more.

Has Abdul come up with the cash yet? Nah not yet. He just sent me a text to say that his solicitor's sister died so he's not been in the office. He also tells me he has the cash in the bank and that he should be able to complete during September (it's 8 October now). The official version, from my solicitor, is that he doesn't have any money, the lender is going through the legal process that precedes a loan being issued.

We'll see soon enough what happens to the labour supply. Its not cheap labour BTW, at least minimum wage is on offer* And jobs which used to pay significantly more than minimum wage have now become minimum wage jobs. It's disingenuous to pretend that this wasn't the entire point of opening up the employment market to workers from post-Communist economies prepared to work for less and tolerate abusive work conditions. British people aren't "feckless" because they aspire to better living conditions than living seven to a caravan in the corner of some wealthy farmer's farmyard. Wouldn't it be great if there was a political party which fought against this and for improvements in the wages and conditions of the working class instead of for the enrichment of their landowner/ factory owner/ landlord cronies? Perhaps someone should form one. We could call it "The Labour Party". Oh, wait!

But how much would the establishment change? The Labour Party lost site of their roots starting with “new labour.”

Rather than adding to what I’ve written, it’s clearer if you make your own comments. Corbyn wasn’t for the workers, the nearest he came to real work was when he had a paper round in his youth.

Corbyn and co represented the London elite ... they wouldn't recognise a working man if he bit them on the arse ... and I fear little has been seen to change under SIR Kier ... but we hope for the best.

Apologies, I tried to add my own comments but they came out in your comments, much the same as you tried to comment on Stabby's post but ended up looking like you were quoting him.

Corbyn and co represented the London elite ... they wouldn't recognise a working man if he bit them on the arse ... Exactly. That's why dozens of constituencies in the midlands and north which had been held by Labour continuously for nearly 100 years now have their first ever Conservative MP. But still it is the Labour way to suggest that this happened because all the voters are racist.

Rog Maybe the London elite like the idea of communism (many branded him as a communist) - somehow I doubt it is as simple as that.

If your own support repeatedly points out to you that you're wrong, yet you choose to persist in the belief that they are mistaken and ignorant northerners, you deserve all you get.

Rog Yes, obviously all northerners ARE ignorant, chip-barm munching, flat-cap wearing. pigeon-fancying whippet owners who keep coal in the bath and can only communicate by grunting in monosyllables, but it should not be forgotten that in a democracy, their vote counts just as much as those of we more sophisticated people at the other end of the M1.

Yes indeed ... more refined tastes in cuisine, language and personal toiletries ... if you know what I mean ... but perhaps up north we're more 'natural' labour supporters too Rog
