The irony of a slum landlord, pissed off at failing to ‘avoid’ paying stamp duty, complaining of dishonest pakistani’s quoting a back street used car salesman as a ‘poor hard done to’ example.😂 Ffs pass me the small violin!🙄 Wow. Can't wait to find out how you earn your crust, makes you so superior.

Disagree. The law was bought in to protect the buyer from Dell Boy characters, legitimate business sellers and all private sellers are not unreasonably punished by the law except in unfortunate cases.
Going to leave it there though.
I'm not talking about private sellers.

Sorry I have a life. I forget I must pander to your every whim right away, sooorrrryyyy. It's clear that a bunch of local lads near your mate have cottoned on to a scam. They happen to be of asian descent. Maybe your mate should raise the issue with his MP, get the law changed. As I thought, you don't have any answers other than sticking to your fanatical belief that all humans, regardless of gender, race or anything else, are all motivated in exactly the same way. Again you attribute thoughts, ideas and comments that patently aren't true. It's obvious we are not all the same, going by your evidence, unless you are claiming everyone is like the scammers, maybe you are and that's your experience, it's certainly not mine. There are those who attribute tired old tropes to whole races, they are wrong.

It does get irritating when people make sweeping generalizations about a group like ... say ... buy to let landlords ... live aboard boaters ... or indeed persons of Asian extract ... perhaps there's a lesson there.

Rog I agree. It's wrong. Best stick to silver topped thieving yorkshiremen as the only option left to be the butt of banter.

There are those who attribute tired old tropes to whole races, they are wrong. You might be right there. The tired old tropes were mostly based on ignorance, and fear of difference. The modern 'tropes' though are very real and based on experience, the very opposite of ignorance.

Rog Indeed. It's important to understand that while there are bad apples in every walk of life most apples are basically good. Having said that some apple trees are less healthy than others. I have decided not to go down the route of boaters being generally ok because Jim has already alluded to it.

Some apples are sweet, some are sour, some are bitter. If a particular type of apple is sour the first time you try but it says in books that they are sweet, you might want to try it again, to see if you were mistaken. If you keep trying them, always finding them sour you should stop trying them, unless you wish to try to develop a taste for sour apples.

"The Social Credit System is a national reputation system being developed by the Chinese Communist Party, under CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping's administration. As of June 2019, according to the National Development and Reform Commission of China, 26.82 million air tickets as well as 5.96 million high-speed rail tickets had been denied to people who were deemed "untrustworthy" (on a blacklist), and 4.37 million "untrustworthy" people had chosen to fulfill their duties required by the law. In general, it takes 2–5 years to be removed from the blacklist, but early removal is also possible if the blacklisted person has done enough remedies. Certain personal information of the blacklisted people is deliberately made accessible to the society and is displayed online as well as at various public venues such as movie theaters and buses, while some cities have also banned children of "untrustworthy" residents from attending private schools and even universities. On the other hand, people with high credit ratings may receive rewards such as less waiting time at hospitals and governmental agencies, discounts at hotels, greater likelihood of receiving employment offers and so on."
