Welcome to Thunderboat, the world's premier UK waterways boating forum... can you provide us with any more details? Thank you. Sorry, what details? Apart from a very lengthy back-story we know about as much as you.

Thank you. Sorry, what details? Everything you saw, from beginning to end.... "saw a commotion" ... describe 'commotion' I really only came on to see if the mam was ok! I was only passing but there were some raised voices a few people on the bank - I guess from this thread crt?but it was hard to see how many because its a bit overgrown.there were a few police talking to the man on the boat.it looked like he was getting off the boat with the police. Its just not what you normally see on the water! Is he OK?

But we are concerned about him so if you witnessed the seizure of his boat (a not entirely unexpected event) then it would be of interest if you would describe it. BTW. Welcome to the forum. You arrive at an interesting moment!

Thanks nemesis. I cant really add any more than above sorry. It was the raised voices I heard first and then the number of people I saw.its quite over grown but there were a few on the bank crt I suppose from the thread and then a few police by the boat with the man, Tony? When I saw them there wasn't a struggle or anything it looked like he was about to get off voluntarily/happily but they were out of sight before I saw him actually get off

Thanks - although I suspect you use the term 'happily' in its broadest sense. Oh well I guess we won't know any more till Tony makes another post.

One would presume the plan is to go back to court and accuse CRT of contempt of court because they didn’t issue a pleasure boat certificate as the court had ordered. That's funny 'cos I said: "Tony is still the owner of HD? It's just been removed 'illegally' as CRT, in contempt of court, refuse to issue him with Pleasure Boat Certificate....?" Nemesis claims the action was not illegal but hasn't yet stated why not. But before CRT will issue a PBC - also known as a Rivers only licence - one must have insurance and either a BSS cert or an agreed exemption. If the boat owner does not comply with these requirements then CRT will not issue the appropriate permit. If you keep a boat on CRT waters without the appropriate permit then ultimately there are 3 choices, namely the owner moves the boat from CRT waters, or pays for the appropriate permit (including satisfying requirements such as insurance etc) or finally CRT will remove the boat for you, which they will hold until you pay their removal & storage costs.

I forget the exact details of the BSS with Halcyon Daze but would still believe I am on Tony's side as to what he wrote a few months ago concerning the BSS. I know members of Thunderboat suggested he just get the BSS done ... but Tony's stance was 'technically and morally' correct in my opinion (ignore what Nemesis says at this juncture). Perhaps the 'best' outcome would have been for Tony to bend over and get the BSS over with. It depends on what one wants in life, I suppose. Anyway, if I may say so, the boat looks unkempt - and what is it, exactly? Just an old shell that was tucked up amongst the reeds? Hardly fit for bona fide boating/cruising with no engine / no stove / no gas equipment? Why the sudden suggestions that Tony was living inside it, and it was his home? I don't know, which is why I'm asking. I am nosy - sorry!

I feel sad for Tony. As many you know I've met him, during the infamous 'engine on rear deck' event. He's salt of the earth, a decent bloke.

Ignore what Mr Fox says at any point, now or in the future. Because it is and will be bollocks.

Either way I think I'm learning a lot. This is all new to me! If at any point it seems your mind is turning to jelly, stop reading at once. Questions asked entirely at your own risk.
